Wiss stuns Garnet Valley

WISSAHICKO­N 10, GARNET VALLEY 7 » The Wissahicko­n boys lacrosse team traveled to face the No. 2 ranked Garnet Valley Saturday and pulled off a shocker, winning 10-7. The Trojans came out very determined taking a 3-2 1st quarter lead. The Trojans kept firing and led 7-4 at halftime. At the end of three it was 8-6 Trojans. At the final horn the scoreboard read Wissahicko­n 10 Garnet Valley 7. The Trojans were led on offense by Jackson Intrieri with 3 goals and 3 assists. Intrieri’s 3rd goal proved to be the game winner putting the Trojans up 8-5.

Dean Wolfe scored 4 goals for the Trojans and Kyle Lehman added 2 goals. Sam Baker added 1 goal and Brody Meyers has 2 assists. Matt Fritz controlled the faceoff circle going 14/21 and Scott Pfeiffer was awesome all day long with a staggering 14 saves. Michael Licata, Ethan Glass, Quinn Fonash, Joey Connolly, EJ Schreiner, Sam Baker and Alex Solomon were tremendous on defense all day long. The win upped the Trojans record to 7-3 on the season. STRATH HAVEN 12, NORTH PENN 4 » The Knights fell short in a nonconfere­nce affair on Saturday. Dakari Luby led the Knights with two goals and one assist. Declan Lanier addded two goals for North Penn, while Danny Sloan and Connor Flynn added assists. Flynn made 24 saves in net for North Penn.

ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 18, BISHOP SHANAHAN 4 » Carroll upped its PCL-leading record to 9-0 and 9-1 overall with an 18-4 win over Shanahan on Saturday. Carroll was led in scoring by Kiley Mottice with 6 goals and Julia Basciano and Keri Barnett with 5 goals each. Mottice also had three assists. Carroll also had 12 draw controls, led by Machaela Henry’s four, while the defense chipped in with four steals and eight ground balls. Karli Dougherty had three steals and Mary Matey had three ground balls.
