Merritt, Evitts power Upper Merion past Pottstown

UPPER MERION 12, POTTSTOWN 0 >> Hat tricks from Cat Merritt (two assists) and Ashley Evitts (assist) powered the Vikings to a PAC Frontier win Monday.

Olivia Smith scored twice, and Bella DiSanto, Julianna Callison, Brooke Olsen and Emma Wellington added goals. DiSanto and Sam Walmsley chipped in assists. UM goalie Anya Waller made three saves.

CB WEST 11, SOUDERTON 10 >> The Bucks pulled out the win in a thriller on Monday. The Indians rallied from a 9-4 deficit in the first half, but fell one goal short. Lauren Hallman paced Souderton with five goals, while Isabel John added two tallies. Also scoring for Souderton were Clark Trowbridge, Avery Farina, Ang Borisow and Reiley Knize. Courtney Mallon and Tegan Farina combined for 11 saves in net for the Indians.

UPPER PERKIOMEN 16, POPE JOHN PAUL II 7 >> Olivia Rogers and Marykate Sitko combined for 10 of the Indians’ goals in a PAC Frontier win over PJP on Monday. The two teams were tied 5-5 at halftime before a dominant second half by UP.

Sitko netted five goals and an assist, and Rogers chipped in another five goals to lead UP’s offense. Lindsay Bieler netted foul goals, Payton Bettys chipped in a goal and an assist, and Kyra Lesko added a goal. Makenzie Bettys made six saves for UP.

Pope John Paul II’s Kallan Bustynowic­z scored four goals.

PW 12, UPPER MORELAND 6 >> The Colonials used a big second half to rally past the Golden Bears on Monday.

Isabel Lieter and Reagan Cummins each scored two goals for Upper Moreland.

NAZARETH ACADEMY 9, DOCK 8 >> Olivia Zaskoda, Kenzie Derstine and Tess Bergey each scored two goals but the Pioneers fell a little short on Monday. Haley Harper was strong in goal for Dock (1-5) with 13 saves.

Boys Lacrosse

SOUDERTON 17, QUAKERTOWN 1 >> John Martin Vince scored five goals, while Jamison McDivitt added four goals and five assists as the Indians piled up on the Panthers on Monday. Tanner Yerton added two goals, while Seth Grossman, Tyson Bui and Kobi Bui each had one goal and two assists.

Baseball

UPPER PERKIOMEN 7, POPE JOHN PAUL II 0 >> Indians’ Evan Wittig tossed a complete game shutout for Monday’s PAC Frontier win.

Wittig gave up three hits and struck out nine batters without walking any, needing just 83 pitches — 62 of them strikes — in the complete game effort. Wes Barker tallied a pair of hits and drove in two runs, and Shane Mohan drove in another two runs to lead UP’s offense.

After PJP fell into an early hole, DJ Clarke allowed three runs in five innings of relief. METHACTON 15, NORRISTOWN 1 >> Mario D’Addesi sparked the Warriors at the plate with a 3-for-4 day, tallying a pair of doubles and three RBI in Monday’s PAC Liberty win.

Tyler Weil-Kasper added a pair of doubles and two RBI, and Nolan McCloskey added another double and two RBI.

Jude Wozniak tossed three innings, giving up just one unearned run and allowing two hits while striking out five batters.

Softball

UPPER DUBLIN 5, UPPER MORELAND 3 >> Chloe Foster struck out nine and scattered five hits and three runs for the Cardinals on Monday. Gretchen Wolpert was 1-for-2 with a solo home run to pace the offense. Anna Levin had a 1-out RBI in the second inning, while Brianna Kesslick and Dani Lucidi picked up RBI’s in the third. Also for the Cards, Lauren Carboni went 2-for-2 and doubled in the fifth.

DOCK 15, MAST 3 >> Maggie Dowell struck out a careerhigh 13 batters and scattered five hits for the Pioneers. All nine starters had at least one hit for Dock including Adelyn Clemmer collecting her first career hit that brought in two runs. Anna Smith, Erin Miles and Kaci Alderfer each added two hits. Jocelhyn Pfleiger went 4-for-4 with a home run, double, two singles and four RBI’s.

UPPER PERKIOMEN 7, POPE JOHN PAUL II 2 >> Taylor Croak gave the Tribe the lead on an RBI single in the third inning and handled the rest in the circle in a PAC Frontier win Monday.

Croak allowed two runs on six hits and struck out eight in a complete-game victory. Kylene Gooch had a double and two hits and Sierra Fretz drove in a pair for division leader UP.

Grace Vigliotta had a triple and was 2-for-3 for PJP.

METHACTON 12, NORRISTOWN 1 >> Freshman pitcher Brianna Keenan picked up her 2nd win for the Warriors. Senior third baseman Caraline Newman was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Sophomore centerfiel­der Riley Kairer was 3-for-4 including a two-run walk-off home run to end the game in the 6th. UPPER MERION 11, POTTSTOWN 0 >> Ava DiDonato pitched a five-inning nohitter for the Vikings with seven strikeouts.

Multi-hit performers for UM were V Marino (3-for-4, 2 RBI) and Cady Legerton (2-for-4, 3 RBI).

Boys Tennis

SPRING-FORD 7, POPE JOHN PAUL II 0 >> Cameron Moore swept his first singles match to set the tone in the Rams’ PAC sweep of the Golden Panthers on Monday.

Ryan Miller and Colton Pollock picked up wins in second and third singles, respective­ly. Millers’ 7-5, 6-4 match with PJP’s JT Collins was one of the tightest matches of the day.

In doubles, the teams of Josh Pergine/Navein Suresh, Dan Thorpe/Ethan Shakour, Jacob Collier/Yash Rohera and Jacob Kolevas/Jupjowt Singh won for the Rams. METHACTON 7, BOYERTOWN 0>> The Warriors’ second singles team of Jonathan Ryu and Dylan Kuong didn’t drop a game in helping the Warriors to Monday’s PAC win.

Jeff Cooper and Connor McNeil dropped just one game each in first and third singles, respective­ly. Darren Brady added a win in second singles for Methacton.

Drew Samtmann and Zach Stevenson won at first doubles, while Ethan O’Brien/AJ Schneider and Avery Barber/Gavin Jacobs won at third and fourth doubles, respective­ly.
