North Penn finishes regular season strong

Boys tennis

NORTH PENN 7, QUAKERTOWN 1 >> The Knights put on an impressive performanc­e Monday, finishing the regular season at 13-1.

North Penn will next compete in the District One Team Tournament May 6.

The Panthers’ Max Arkans defeated Jay Doscher 7-6 (7-1), 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

For NP, Ansh Sharma defeated Robby Everitt 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Hans Perera defeated Riley Robinson 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot.

At doubles, Andrew Brown and Dave Horrell defeated Isaac Snyder and Darian Sawadski 6-0, 6-0; Jigar Dadarwala and Collin McGuire defeated Marcus Milkowich and Justin Kwityn 6-1, 6-0; Nikhil Madaka and Jeff Kobasa defeated Josh Einolf and Jimmy Mora 6-0, 6-1; and Anthony Pavlik and Kevin Murphy defeated Gabe Roman and Hasan Demirgil 6-1, 6-1.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 7, UPPER MERION 0 >> The Vikings handled undermanne­d Upper Merion in Tuesday’s PAC match.

PV got 6-0, 6-0 results from Evan Bolton at third singles, and its doubles teams of Jeremy Hadler/ Henry Ye (first) and Evan Butler/Eli Volcsko. UM’s best individual showing came at second singles, where Barrington Richards extended his duel with Carter Young to a tiebreaker set.

Boys volleyball

UPPER DUBLIN 3, SOUDERTON 2 >> The Cardinals won a back-and-forth match over the Indians Tuesday, 25-16, 22-25, 25-13, 16-25, 15-12.

Nate Brown had 30 assists for Souderton while Aidan Wunderly had 20 kills and Tate Kreiser eight digs.

Girls lacrosse

WISSAHICKO­N 13, CHELTENHAM 3 >> Abby DeGroat scored three goals and added two assists as the Trojans handled the Panthers Tuesday.

Lexi Hobson, Sophia Chiodo Ortiz and Nora Ryan each added two goals for Wissahicko­n.

Abby Leighton led Cheltenham with two goals. ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 22, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 0 >> Four Archbishop Carroll seniors celebrated Senior Day with hat tricks as the Patriots picked up a PCL win over LC.

Julia Basciano, Keri Barnett, KArly Dougherty and Nicole Pawelec each scored three goals while senior goalie Sophie Kevtan posted a shutout.

Boys lacrosse

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 10, SOUDERTON 9 >> Council Rock North scored the game-winning goal with two minutes left to beat Souderton Tuesday.

Kobi Bui had five goals and one assist for the Indians while John Martin Vince had two goals. PHOENIXVIL­LE 7, POPE JOHN PAUL II 6 >> After trailing early Tuesday, the Phantoms were able to record a hard-fought, come-frombehind victory over the Golden Panthers in their PAC game.

Owen Kelly recorded his first varsity goal and was joined by scorers Andrew Carranti, Ryan Gilleland, and Bryan Maguire for Phoenixvil­le, which scored the gamewinner with 2:30 to play. Ambrose Collilouri scored four goals to lead PJP, with Shane Flynn (two assists) and Luke Pallante adding solo tallies.

Nolan Martin had eight saves in the Phantom goal, and Dan Maine had a 10save game for the Panthers.

0 >> A trio of pitchers combined to two-hit the Eagles while the bats enabled the Wildcats to score a “mercy rule” victory in Tuesday’s PAC Liberty Division game.

Shay Geib yielded just one hit and one walk against four strikeouts through three innings, with Cameron Brashear going a no-hit fourth and Christian Grillo a one-hit fifth. At the plate, Zach Santise and Kyle O’Connor (double) each drove in three runs with two-hit days that helped Owen J. jump out to a five-run lead in its first at-bat.

Softball OWEN J. ROBERTS 19, NORRISTOWN

4 >> Scoring early and often, the Wildcats made quick work of the Eagles in Tuesday’s PAC Liberty Division matchup.

A nine-run fourth inning enabled Roberts to bring the “mercy rule” into effect after Norristown was held to its four runs in its first three at-bats. Sophia Winnick (2-for-3) drove in three runs while Emma DiBattista (3-for-5), Emmie Feltenberg­er (3-for-3) and Sydnee Campbell each had two RBI. for the ‘Cats to back pitcher Jade Jenkins’ four-hit, three-strikeout mound work.
