Julia M. (DiGiovanni) Diliberto, 92, of Lansdale, passed away at her residence under hospice care on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 after a long illness. She was the loving wife of the late Philip “Phil” Diliberto, her husband of 70 years, who died October 31, 2018.

Born September 18, 1928 in her parents’ home in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late Enrico and Mary (Maiorano) DiGiovanni.

Mrs. Diliberto graduated from St. Stanislaus School and Lansdale High School. While in school, she participated in the St. Stanislaus School Choir and sang at all the Sunday High Masses. Julia was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Parish and was married 72 years ago on September 19, 1948 in the original St. Stanislaus Church. She later would sing at all Funeral Masses with a friend until the church choir was formed.

Julia worked at Onercraft (Onorato Clothing Company) in Kulpsville and Lansdale as a seamstress. She also worked at Philco Corporation of Lansdale as a vacuum tube tester and was an auxiliary member of the Virgillio Schembri Battavio VFW Post 23 in Lansdale.

Julia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Some of her favorite things-to-do were gardening, crossword puzzles, listening to oldies music, walking with her dogs, and enjoying nature. She also loved cooking family meals, especially large Italian Sunday dinners, taking trips to the Poconos with her family, and traveling with close friends to Myrtle Beach, SC and Florida. Most of all, Julia just loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Geraldine “Gerri” Smith (Louis J.) of Lansdale, Philip M. Diliberto (Rhonda) of Lansdale, and Diane E. Bell (James M.) of Hatfield; six grandchildren, Dara Connelly (Joseph), Julie Furru (Brian), Candice Kovacs (Lester), David P. Diliberto (Danielle), Michael Bell (Catherine), and Jeffrey Bell; six great-grandchildren, Vinny Diliberto, Aubrey and Aiden Kovacs, Ashton Connelly, Norah Diliberto, and Elaina Bell; her sister, Susan Thomson of Lansdale; and many much loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Bono.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated privately with burial in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery, Lansdale.

If considering a memorial contribution in Julia’s memory, the family would suggest that contributions be made to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960 or St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446.
