NP routs West as Torresani collects No. 400

NORTH PENN

16, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 (4) >> Bri Wilmot and Sarah Sabocsik each hit home runs, Julia Shearer collected three hits and Mady Volpe struck out 10 in a four-inning nohitter as North Penn coach Rick Torresani earned his 400th career win as the Knights rolled to their seventh straight victory.

Wilmot opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the top of the second that ended with the North Penn up 6-0. Sabocsik two-RBI homer capped a nine-run fourth as the Knights (13-1, 6-0) posted a season-high 16 runs on 13 hits — seven for extra bases.

Shearer went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two RBIs and three run scored while Wilmot was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and scored twice.

Gianna Cimino was 2-for-2 with a double and three runs scored, Sophia Collins finished 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored while Rachel Lowry had a double, an RBI and two runs scored. PENNRIDGE 10, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 9 >> Madison Silber gave Pennridge a dramatic comeback win, hitting a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to send the Rams past visiting Central Bucks East in Thursday night’s SOL Colonial Division contest.

Pennridge scored four runs in its half of the sixth to tie the Patriots 7-7 but East responded by scoring twice in the top of the seventh on RBI singles from Elizabeth Gray and Amelia Funston.

In the bottom of the seventh, back-to-back singles by Catelyn Thursh and Grace Helbling put two on for Silber, who came through with a three-run shot to left to give the Rams (5-10, 2-4 division) their second straight win.

Thursh finished 5-for-5 with a double, triple, two RBIs and three runs scored while Grace Helbling was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored and claimed the pitching win with a complete-game effort. HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, WISSAHICKO­N 2 >> Hatboro-Horsham erased a 2-0 deficit by scoring all three of its runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning — Kendal Leitner tying the game on a 2-RBI double with Abby Waeltz hitting the go-ahead RBI single as the Hatters remained undefeated with a comeback SOL Liberty win Thursday.

Kayla Tauber was 3-for-3 with a run scored for HH (13-0, 6-0 division) while Tess Kearney went 2-for-3 with a run scored. QUAKERTOWN 5, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3 >> In a matchup between streaking SOL Liberty sides, Plymouth Whitemarsh broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the bottom of the sixth but Quakertown scored three times in the top of the seventh for a comeback win. Syd Andrews and Mary Wilkinson each had two RBIs while Emma Hilton scored two runs for the Panthers (12-2, 5-1 division), who won their seventh straight. Andrews also struck out six in earning a complete-game victory in the circle,

Talia Car finished 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored for the Colonials (96, 2-4), which had their sixgame win streak snapped. Hannah Suh went 2-for-4. In the bottom of the sixth, Carr put PW ahead 3-2 with a two-out RBI double. UPPER DUBLIN 4, ABINGTON 0 >> Upper Dublin corners Dani Lucidi (third base) and Gretchen Wolpert made key plays in the infield in the fifth and sixth innings to keep Abington from rallying on Thursday. Chloe Foster did an outstandin­g job mixing up her pitches and hitting locations to keep Abington hitters off-balance at the plate. She surpassed the 100 strikeout mark for the season during the game. Lucidi also paced the offense with two hits.

LC 12, PERK SCHOOL 5 >> Grace Picozzi scored four goals and added two assists as the Crusaders rolled to the nonconfere­nce win on Thursday.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 19, NORRISTOWN 0 >> The Wildcats clinched their sixth consecutiv­e outright Pioneer Athletic Conference championsh­ip with Thursday’s PAC Liberty win over the Eagles coupled with a loss by Methacton.

PHOENIXVIL­LE 9, UPPER MERION 8 >> The Phantoms got scoring from six players as they edged the Vikings in Thursday’s PAC Frontier Division game.

Gianna Thaxton, Alana Lathan and Lucy O’Donnell each scored pairs of goals for Phoenixvil­le. Cat Merritt gave UM a game-high five goals.

Thursday was Upper Merion’s (8-1 Frontier) first division loss of the season, keeping Phoenixvil­le (6-2) in the division race.

SPRING-FORD 10, METHACTON 9 >> The Rams ended the Warriors’ slim PAC title hopes with Thursday’s PAC Liberty victory Abbey Boyer netted four goals, while Alyssa Mozi and Madi Doyle chipped in a pair each. Jayme Weber tallied a hat trick for Methacton.

SOUDERTON 13, PW 5 >> The Indians sent the seniors out on Senior Night with a big win on Thursday. Kobe Bui scored four goals to pace the seniors, while Riley Eberly and Justin Wawrzynek also scored goals. Senior Luke Wawrzynek won 16 of 20 faceoffs and added one assist. Underclass­men Jamison McDivitt tallied three goals, while Seth Grossman added two goals and one assist. METHACTON 15, BOYERTOWN 7 >> The Bears weren’t able to overcome a 6-1 halftime deficit against the Warriors in Thursday’s PAC game. Aidan McFalls scored a hat trick for Boyertown.

DOWNIGTOWN EAST 8, WISSAHICKO­N

6 >> Wissahicko­n coming off a huge emotional win over rival Upper Dublin traveled to PIAA #1 seed Downingtow­n East and lost a close game 8-6 on Thursday. The game was tied 2-2 after one quarter. The Trojans held a 4-3 halftime lead. At the end of three it was Downingtow­n East 5-4. The game went back and forth with the Trojans twice getting the game to a one goal game only to see East score an empty netter with less than 30 seconds left to win 8-6. The Trojans were led by Jackson Intrieri with 2 goals and 2 assists. Kyle Lehman with 2 goals, Dean Wolfe had one goal and one assist. Andrew Slackman had one goal and EJ Schreiner had one assist. Matt Fritz went 13/17 at the faceoff X for the Trojans.
