Triple Roaring 20’s to highlight Grandview action on May 30th

Is it possible for one modified driver to sweep all three of the Triple Roaring 20’s on Sunday night,

May 30 at the Grandview Speedway?

In the October running of the Triple 20’s format for modifieds, Ryan Beltz,

Kevin Hirthler and Duane Howard split the three wins and all three drivers are already entered to try again and claim the Pioneer Pole Building’s $2,500 bonus, plus $2,000 to win each twenty lap feature. Heat race qualifying will determine the twenty-four car starting field for the each of the modified features.

Also on the program will be heat race qualifying for the sportsman leading up to the 20 lap $1,300 to win feature event. The Vintage Outlaw Racing Series will also be on the race card Sunday night, May 30.

Gates open at 5 PM and race time is set for 7:30 PM for the second event of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series of 2021.

The Triple Roaring 20’s event will allow both Big Block and 358 Modifieds to compete together in a unique rules package. This special rules package is offered to the regions modified drivers, with both American Racer and Hoosier tires allowed for competitio­n, and either Big-Block or Spec Small-Block engines permitted. thunderont­hehillraci­ngseries.com. There is no entry fee but drivers must pre-enter to be eligible for the posted payoff and to draw. Drivers must pre-enter by May 25th by calling 443 513 4456.

For the Sunday, May 30 event, adult admission tickets are $25, Children 6 to 11 are $10, Children 5 and under will be admitted free. The pit fee is $40, and a license is not required.

Williams Grove Speedway will honor historic and famed sprint car mechanic and engine builder Davey Brown Sr. with the All Stars Circuit of Champions

Sprints Davey Brown Tribute Race coming up in two weeks, on Friday night, May 28 at 7:30 pm.

The big Williams Grove event will pay $10,000 to win for the sprint cars in honor of the 86-year old Brown whose career is now within an eighth prolific decade after he began in the sport in 1953.

The event will include a

pre-race meet and greet in the infield with several personalit­ies who have been touched by Brown’s prowess over the decades.

Tentativel­y slated to be on hand along with Brown are former sprint car and Indy car driver brothers PJ and James Chesson, secondgene­ration driver Bobby Gearhart Jr. and former driver Lynn Paxton.
