Warriors deal Conestoga a loss

METHACTON 14, CONESTOGA 2 >> The Warriors defeated the Pioneers Monday behind the two-hit, two-run, seven-strikeout, one-walk pitching effort of Paige Deal. Methacton collected nine hits including four home runs, in the five-inning game. Sophomore Riley Kairer hit a solo home run and was 2 for 3 with two RBI. Jr Nicole Timko was also 2 for 3 with one RBI.

KENNETT 2, UPPER DUBLIN 0>> The Cards lost a heartbreak­er in the first round of the District 1-5A Tournament on Monday. Chloe Foster did her past, tossing a three-hitter with nine strikeouts for Upper Dublin. Kennett strung together single runs in the 2nd and the 4th innings to pick up the win. Upper Dublin finishes the season with a record of 9-11.

Carroll nearly completed an improbable comeback Monday, but ultimately lost to Conwell-Egan, 7-5, in the semifinal round of the Catholic League playoffs.

Trailing 7-1 with three outs to play, the Patriots batted around in the seventh inning and scored four times, but they left the tying runs on base.

Sophia Spurio got the rally started with a bunt that brought home the first run. Maya Preston followed with an RBI double. Cheyenne

Niehoff’s two-run single cut the deficit to 7-5, but that’s where the rally ended.

Lauren Martin led the way offensivel­y for Carroll with three hits. Preston and Spurio had two hits apiece.

Conwell-Egan will play Archbishop Ryan for the Catholic League title Wednesday afternoon at FDR Park.
