WEST WHITELAND >> Weston Solutions Inc., an environmental and infrastructure support services firm based in Chester County, has announced changes in its leadership.

Lawrence J. Bove has been named president and chief executive officer effective Jan. 1, 2022. Bove currently serves as Weston’s chief operating officer.

Bove will replace Alan J. Solow, who announced his plans to retire as CEO and assume the role as chairman of the board effective Jan. 1, 2022.

The six-month transition period will allow for a “smooth transition,” for Bove into his new position, according to the company. During the transition period, Bove will also select a new chief operating officer.

“I am honored to have been selected by our board of directors to lead Weston Solutions as president & chief executive officer. Under Alan Solow’s leadership, I am proud to have served as COO alongside Weston’s top-notch senior management team to accomplish an operational turnaround that has positioned our company for continuous success,” Bove said in a statement. “I will rely on Weston’s mission, core values, and the passion of our employee owners to serve our clients as guiding principles to defend our 60+ year legacy of environmental excellence and drive shareholder value into the future.”

Bove started his 38 year career at Weston Solutions as a staff engineer in wastewater engineering, advancing to roles that included: project manager, client account manager, vice president-profit center manager, senior vice president division general manager before assuming the COO position in 2014. During his career he gained expertise in serving federal, state, and local government and industrial clients, according to a press release. As COO, Bove led Weston Solutions operations through a series of consolidations, including nationalizing the technical resources group.

“Weston has a bright future and Larry will take this company forward with a new vision of growth and prosperity for all of our employee owners,” Solow said of the appointment.

Solow will replace William L. Robertson as chairman of the board for Weston Solutions. Solow was brought back to Weston in 2014 as CEO to lead the firm through a significant financial turnaround. Under his leadership, the firm undertook consolidation of business units, transforming a regionalized structure into a national structure.

“With Solow at the helm, the firm successfully weathered financial threats and moved the company to sustainable growth in both top and bottom line through focus on our core services and clients,” the release stated.

“I am very proud to have served as Weston’s chief executive officer and be a part of the environmental services legacy our employee-owners have built since Roy F. Weston founded the company in 1957,” Solow said. “It has been a privilege to lead the Weston team who serve the needs of our clients every day to make our communities and the world a better place to live.”
