It’s good to know what and how to sow

-

If you like what you are reaping it means that you are sowing well, writes Pastor Rodney Ragwan.

Do you like what you are reaping?

I recently read this quote and I am not sure who the author is, “If you don’t like what you are reaping, you had better change what you have been sowing.” I can almost hear you agreeing with this. I too agree.

As people of faith, reading of scripture helps us in the sowing. So if you like what you are reaping it means that you are sowing well. Sowing is knowing, among other things, the soil. I was made aware of the soil along the side of our church which has clay. It is not a very good soil to sow seeds or plant flowers as I would like to do. When the soil is soft and is fertile, seeds can be sown, and, if watered and nurtured well, can produce healthy and beautiful flowers. Hosea 10:12 says, “Sow with a view to righteousness, reap in accordance with kindness; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord. Until He comes to rain righteousness on you.”

The pandemic has challenged us in many ways. Many of you have had good seeds planted in you and you are holding steady. The challenge is to sow seeds into our younger people but still nurturing and caring for those who are seasoned in their faith. How we sow the seed and what we sow will be crucial. It will not look the same as 20-50 years ago.

The important thing is that we sow good seeds and when we look at the reaping, we will like it.
