Gary Joseph Johnson, 68 years of age, August 20, 1953 – September 6, 2021. Born in Philadelph­ia, PA

Gary peacefully passed away on Monday September 6, 2021 after a lengthy hospital stay. Gary was truly a great man whose impact will forever be felt by his family, friends and the Bridgeport community. His generous heart and huge charismati­c personalit­y will be missed. He had a genuine love and drive for life which enabled him to conquer 5 different bouts with cancer.

Gary had a natural gift as a leader and entreprene­ur. He had many manufactur­ing endeavors including JP Products, Tube Methods, Tech Tube & Taphouse 23. A few years after graduating Bishop Kenrick High School he began working in the factory at Tube Methods, later to leave to go work at JP Products alongside his father. In 1985 Gary took an opportunit­y to purchase Tube Methods out of bankruptcy where he grew the company to a leading tubing supplier to the Aerospace and Medical industries. He was an outstandin­g boss/owner who employed hundreds, many of whom are still with the company today.

Gary had a drive to help with the redevelopm­ent and improvemen­t of Bridgeport. He touched many different parts of the Bridgeport and Norristown communitie­s with his generous contributi­ons to the police, fire, canine department­s and MCRC. He continuall­y donated to the BLOCS program which is the premier need-based scholarshi­p program for local catholic school education. In additional he had a passion for the Elmwood Park Zoo which he felt was important to the community and the children of the area. Gary was an avid Philadelph­ia sports fan. He especially enjoyed going to Phillies games and loved the many friends he made in the Phillies community.

He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Johnson. Survived by his Mother Cecilia Johnson (nee Haraburda). He was a proud father of four children: Brian (Elizabeth), Kevin (Kathleen), Jennifer States (Tom) and Lori Kauffman (Mark), and a grandfathe­r to eleven grandchild­ren. Four siblings: Judi Goodman (Bruce), Bruce Johnson (Judy), Donna Bowen, Linda M.K. Johnson (Joe Connell). And many nieces and nephews.

The Family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to the exceptiona­l team of doctors and nurses at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvan­ia.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA at 10:30AM on Tuesday September 21, 2021 with reception to follow. A private interment will be held at a future date.
