Band practice at Gwynedd Square Presbyteri­an Church, 837Sumneyt­own Pike, Lansdale, with our new band directer, Jeffrey Miller, begins Thursday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Jeff is a retired band director from the North Penn School District and we are so excited to have him direct our multi-generation­al band. Dust off those instrument that you haven’t touched for a while or the shiny new ones that you’ve recently played and come let’s make beautiful music together. Everyone with an instrument and some ability is welcome to come. We will be preparing for a Christmas concert at our church on December 12. St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 125N Main St., North Wales: Virtuoso Trumpeter Charlie Evans will provide special music throughout the Sunday 10 a.m. worship service. Two classic solos include “Let the Bright Seraphim” by G.F. Handel and “Air for Trumpet” by Georg Philipp Telemann. In addition he will perform descants with the congregati­onal hymns from his published Hymn Descants for Treble Instrument­s. Currently residing in Maine, he previously performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelph­ia, the Bach Festival Orchestra of Bethlehem, and the Delaware Valley Philharmon­ic. St. Philip Orthodox Christian Church of Souderton, will hold its Ninth Annual Internatio­nal Food Festival on Friday & Saturday, September 17 and 18, noon to 8 p.m., on the church grounds at 1970 Clearview Road, Souderton. The Festival will feature favorite ethnic dishes from Greece, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Romania, Russia, Poland, and the US. Entrees range in price from $9 to $14. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Keystone Opportunit­y Center of Souderton, Manna on Main Street of Lansdale, and Pennridge FISH of Perkasie. The Festival will also feature scheduled church tours, live entertainm­ent on Friday and Saturday, ethnic dance, chant demonstrat­ions, iconograph­y demonstrat­ion, children’s activities, and craft bazaar. The Church of the Holy Spirit (Episcopal), 2871Barndt Road, Upper Salford, holds inperson Communion services at 8and 10:15a.m. on Sundays, with COVID protocols and masks for those not vaccinated. The church continues to live-stream the 10:15 a.m. Communion services on Sundays on their Facebook page — Church of the Holy Spirit, Harleysvil­le. Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road, will continue summer outdoor pavilion services at 9:30 a.m. until September 26.
