“Re-Creation,” known as “America’s Ambassadors to Hospitalized Veterans,” will perform a concert of sacred music at Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 1101 Cowpath Road, Hatfield, on Sunday, October 31, at 10:45 a.m. There is no admission charge but a goodwill offering will be taken.
Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, is planning a Drive-Thru Pumpkin Fest and Trunk or Treat, 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23. Drivethru and pick up some candy and enjoy the carved and painted pumpkins. You can pre-order a hot pizza to bring home.

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 211 S. Main St., North Wales, celebrates Sunday, Oct. 24 with indoor Communion services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. All are welcome who are comfortable indoors; follow CDC guidelines and wear a mask until further notice. A Zoom service will be at 9:30 a.m. for those who are not comfortable inside. Contact the church office 215-699-4604 for the Zoom link. Sunday School will be in the Fellowship Hall at 10:30. St. John’s United Church of Christ will celebrate Confirmation Sunday at the 10:15 a.m. service on October 24 during which time the confirmands will receive communion prior to the congregation receiving communion. Communion will also be served at the 8 a.m. service. Glutenfree bread is available at both services. The United Ringers, the hand bell choir at St. John’s United Church of Christ, will play “Amazing, Wondrous!” by D. Ann Wood, at the 10:15 am service. All worshipers are asked to wear a mask while indoors in all church buildings. Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church PC(USA), 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale: Please join us live in our sanctuary or for online services via Zoom with an internet-enabled device or by telephone. Sunday Worship is at 10 a.m. and Praise Service is at 8:30 a.m. We are worshipping using CDC guidelines with the wearing of masks and social distancing. The Hiking Ministry will have its last hike of the year on Saturday, October 30. We will meet at the church at 8:30 a.m. or meet at Stony Creek Park at 200 E Hancock Street in Lansdale (between South Broad and Church Road). The hike will be on the Liberty Trail that was recently completed and goes through Lansdale. The hike will total approximately 3.5 miles and there will be a brief devotional midway through the hike. Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, announces the much-anticipated Fall Rummage Sale. This is the first bi-annual Rummage Sale since the Fall Rummage Sale of 2019 due to the pandemic. It looks like people have been saving the items we sell over the 2-year hiatus as we have an incredible amount of new and gently used clothing, hats, gloves, scarves, etc. and blankets sheets, and towels and small household items. Items are from all seasons of the year. Due to the number of items for sale, we have adjusted the times of the sale. The Friday, Oct. 29 hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 hours will be 8 to 11 a.m. followed by the traditional bag sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please call the church office at 215-6999159 with questions or visit the church’s website gwyneddsquare.org.
Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, organizes and runs a Mission Week every fall and spring so that members of the congregation and broader community can participate in community service and donation opportunities. This fall, Mission Week will take place from October 31 to November 6. A variety of options for participation are offered, all of which will follow current CDC and local COVID-19 safety protocols. These will include masked in-person activities and contactless drop-off events. Each volunteer will be provided with the name and contact information of the activity coordinator, activity description, and schedule of when the activity will take place. Opportunities are available to support the following local organizations: Cradles to Crayons — donate new or gently used children’s items for children in need; Cradles to Crayons — sort and check quality of donations and fill wish lists for under-privileged children; Gemma Services — donate nonperishable foods, disposable pans and grocery gift cards for Thanksgiving Day bags for underserved families; Keystone Opportunity Center — pack fresh produce for those in need of food support into boxes and load into clients’ cars; Keystone Opportunity Center — maintenance/clean-up of a property for an organization that assists the temporarily homeless. We invite you to be a ray of sunshine and join us to help others through these service opportunities. The Church of the Holy Spirit (Episcopal), 2871 Barndt Road at the corner of Sumneytown Pike, Upper Salford, now holds in-person Communion services at 8 and 10:15 a.m. on Sundays, with COVID protocols requiring mask wearing. The church will also continue to live-stream the 10:15 a.m. Communion services on Sundays on their Facebook page — Church of the Holy Spirit, Harleysville. Compline services are being provided over Zoom at 8 p.m. on Thursdays. Services are led by the Rev. Kathy Andonian, Rector, assisted by staff, parish and choir members.
