Braves qualify for title game

- Staff reports

The 2021 Souderton Braves Peewee Football team motto from day one was “Hard Work Pays Off”.

They started out in Tiny Mite Tackle football with a record of 8-2. The following year they set the tone once again with a Junior Mity Mite record of 8-2.

At this point they entered their first year of competitive football at the Mity Mite Level. With a love for the game, a hard work ethic, and a relentless will to win they made it to their first Bux-Mont Championship.

This first appearance was one the most exciting games ever witnessed by the coaching staff. The boys battled back from a halftime deficit of 16-0. The boys never gave up and pushed that game into double overtime.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be, and the game was lost to the kick of an 8-year-old foot.

The team went on to claim the Regional C Bracket Championship that season with record of 10-2, only to have been beaten by one team. The next season they came together once again as the Junior Peewee No. 2 Squad. They were one of two JPW teams for the Souderton Braves that year and went on to a second BuxMont Championship appearance.

This still wasn’t their year, but they battled out for a great season to only have lost to one team all season.

From this point on the boys pushed themselves even harder to only set the bar higher and higher and never look back. Last season they came together to play as the Junior Peewee No. 1 squad. They pushed themselves and each other to win their first ever Bux-Mont Championship.

The boys went on to play in Eastern Region Championships and remained undefeated to claim the top spot in the Eastern Region. Unfortunately, the country was dealing with COVID-19, and all National Championship play was canceled effectively ending their 2020 perfect season.

The 2021 season was primed

and ready for one of the most talented group of football players the coaching staff has ever seen.

They came together this year with a “one game at

a time mindset” driven by the belief that “Hard Work Pays Off”.

The boys went through this season with more fierceness and determination then could have been imagined. They completed the Bux-Mont Season with an undefeated record, 4th Bux-Mont championship

appearance with a 2X BuxMont Championship win.

The following weekend they went on to play a team from New York for the Eastern Region Championship and could not be stopped with a 48-0 win to stake their claim as 2X Eastern Region Champs.

This past Saturday they

played the biggest game of their young lives against a team from Chicago for the final National Championship spot.

The boys did what they do best and played Souderton Braves football. With a 32-16 win over the Illinois Junior Celtics the boys have finally earned the chance to win a

National Title in Orlando, Florida in only two weeks.

The team is asking for any donations for these boys to help get them to Florida to play for a National Championship as one of the top 4 teams in the country.

The attached link is for the team Go Fund Me Page where all donations go directly toward the teams travel expenses. This is a great opportunity to support your local football community and home team as we represent all of you to take on the National Title.
