Kohm making waves at Georgia

Men’s swimming

• Zach Kohm, a 2021 La Salle grad, continues to excel at The University of Georgia.

In a victory over Tennessee last week, Kohm swam to a personalbe­st time in the 1,000-yard freestyle, touching in 9 minutes, 27.66 seconds.

Earlier this season, Kohm had personal-best times in the 500 free (4:31.28), against North Carolina, and 200 butterfly (1:54.66), against Florida.

• Another 2021 La Salle grad, Connor Goodyear, is making an impact at La Salle.

Despite a loss to Army West Point on Friday night, the Mountain Hawks placed first, second and third in the 400 free relay.

The team of Alex Patti, Aiden McCurley, Tim Norris and Goodyear came in first with a time of 3:10.40.

• Nick Clark, a 2021 North Penn grad, is making his way at Brown. Despite losing to Harvard earlier this month, Clark surged to a fifth-place finish in the 200 breaststro­ke, posting a 2:20.70.

• Max Bachman, a 2021 North Penn grad, has been a key contributo­r at West Chester University.

West Chester fell to Delaware last week, but there were many bright spots for the Golden Rams.

Bachman was runner-up in the 200 free, as West Chester displayed its strength in the freestyle events.

• Matthew Jensen, a 2020 Upper Dublin grad, is in the midst of a strong sophomore season at Cal.

At the Minnesota Invite, Jensen was a member of the Bears’ B Relay in the 400 free, contributi­ng to a seventh-place finish in 2:51.95.

Jensen had a solid freshman year at Cal, ranking in the top nine on the team in three different events, including the 100 free, 100 fly and 200 IM.

Women’s Swimming and Diving

• Aly Breslin, a 2020 Upper Dublin grad, is coming on strong at The University of Tennessee.

Breslin finished second in the 500 free against Louisville, touching the wall in 4:54.85.

A versatile performer, Breslin’s top times this season include 1:50.37 in the 200 free, 4:42.91 in the 500 free, 9:54.86 in the 1,000 free, 16:24.61 in the 1,650 free, 1:07.96 in the 100 breast, 2:02.73 in the 200 IM and 4:17.21 in the 400 IM.

• North Carolina fell to No. 1 Virginia last week, but Paige Burrell, a 2019 North Penn grad, had a solid afternoon of dives for the Tar Heels.

Burrell placed second in the one- and three-meter springboar­d.

As a sophomore a year ago, she claimed the bronze medal on the one-meter board at the ACC Championsh­ips.

• Meghan Wenzel, a former teammate of Burrell’s and 2020 NP grad, is in the midst of a solid sophomore season at Georgia.

Wenzel has qualified for the Zone Championsh­ips, held in March, in the one- and three-meter events.

Earlier this season, Wenzel earned wins on the one-meter against Auburn and Tennessee.

Track and field

• Bloomsburg sophoimore Kelley Selheimer (North Penn) posted a PSAC mark in the 3,000 meterrun, taking fourth overall in the 23rd Annual Bison Open. Selheimer finished with a time of 10:47.99 and is ranked 13th in the conference.

Ryan Duff (PW) earned a spot in the PSAC Championsh­ips as well as he took eighth overall in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:54.97, the 12thbest time in the conference.

Robert Wilson (Wissahicko­n) was a part of the 4x400 team that took third with a time of 3;27.49 and is currently ranked fifth in the PSAC.

Wrestling

• Bloomsburg’s Bruno Stolfi (Souderton) picked up a win at 184 pounds against Rider 7-2, but the Huskies fell 25-9 in a Mid-American Conference match on Saturday. The Huskies only posted three wins on the day.

Men’s basketball

•St. Bonaventur­e inducted Marques Green into its Hall of Fame during Saturday’s win over St Joseph’s. Green, a 2004 graduate of St. Bonaventur­e, played high school basketball at Norristown and currently serves as an assistant coach at The Hill School.

• Florida State’s Naheem McLeod (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had a season high 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting in Saturday’s 85-72 loss to Virginia Tech, adding a rebound

In Wednesday’s 75-61 loss to Georgia Tech, McLeod posted 10 points and seven boards

• Villanova’s Collin Gillespie (Archbishop Wood) had 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting and three rebounds

in Saturday’s 7362 win over St John’s. Eric Dixon (Abington) also shot well, converting 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting and added seven rebounds and a block while Jordan Longino (Germantown Academy) had six points and a steal and Chris Arcidiacon­o (Neshaminy) scored five points and doled out two assists off the bench.

In Tuesday’s 67-43 win over DePaul, Gillespie had 14 points, hitting 4-of-6 3-point shots and adding two rebounds, two assists and a steal. Dixon posted a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, six on the offensive end, plus two assists and two steals and Longino registered four points, two assists and a steal.

• Jefferson’s Erik Timko (Methacton) tied his career high with his third 34 point game of the season in Sunday’s 92-89 win over Bloomfield. The redshirt freshman shot 10-of-17 from the floor and 11-of-13 at the line, adding three rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Timko also posted 13 points, five rebounds, seven assists and two steals in Wednesday’s 87-82 win over Wilmington.

• Justin Anderson (Archbishop Carroll) scored 23 points with three rebounds, three assists and a block for Bloomsburg in Saturday’s 80-74 loss to Millersvil­le on Saturday.

In Wednesday’s 90-64 loss to Shippensbu­rg, Anderson rounded up 19 points, two rebounds, an assist, block and steal while Hunter Healy (Bishop McDevitt) had eight rebounds.

• Kutztown’s Evan-Eric Longino (Germantown Academy) had 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a steal in Wednesday’s 75-71 setback to Mansfield.

• Navy’s Sean Yoder (Pennridge) had four points, three rebounds and a steal in Wednesday’s 81-63 win over Bucknell.

Yoder added four points, four rebounds and an assist in Saturday’s 47-45 win over American.

• Wilkes’ Trent Fisher was named MAC Freedom Player of the Week. He posted three consecutiv­e double-doubles averaging 20.0 points and 14.0 rebounds. Fisher started the week with 17 points and 13 rebounds against Penn State Wilkes-Barre. In the Colonel’s victory over DeSales, the forward posted 19 points with 14 rebounds breaking the Bulldog’s unbeaten record in conference play. The sophomore finished the week against Arcadia with career-highs of 24 points and 15 rebounds.

Women’s basketball

• The DeSales duo of Megan Bealer and Mikaela Reese, both Souderton graduates, continues to churn out impressive stats.

In Saturday’s 76-52 win over Misericord­ia, Reese recorded her fifth straight double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and four steals and Bealer tacked on 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Against Wilkes, Reese racked up 15 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, four blocks and four steals in the 72-30 win Wednesday. Bealer notched seven points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Reese and Bealer started the week with a 98-56 win over Del Val on Monday with Reese posting 21 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals while Bealer had 16 points, eight boards, a block and three steals.

In her last five games, Bealer has pulled in 52 rebounds.

• Chestnut Hill continued its strong season with a 68-62 win over Holy Family on Wednesday paced by a career game from Bri Hewlett (North Penn) with 23 points, 12 rebounds and two assists.

Cassie Sebold (Archbishop Wood) added 12 points, five rebounds, eight assists and two steals, Abbey Spratt (CB West) had four points and three rebounds and Lauren Crim (Lansdale Catholic) posted nine points, two rebounds and two steals. Emily Chimel (CB East) contribute­d two points, seven rebounds, three assists and a steal.

In Sunday’s 84-64 win over Nyack, Hewlett posted another double double with 12 points, 16 rebounds and a steal. A 9-of-11 effort at the line helped Sebold to 15 points, three rebounds, four assists and a steal while Crim scored 10 points with two rebounds and two assists, Chimel recorded 11 points, 13 rebounds and a steal off the bench and Spratt had eight points and six rebounds. Kait Carter (Penn Charter) stuffed the box with 14 points, four rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block.

• Villanova’s Lucy Olsen (Spring-Ford) had 10 points, six rebounds and an assist in Friday’s 5944 win over Butler while Kaitlyn Orihel (Archbishop Wood) added one point and two assists with Brooke Mullin (Neshaminy) adding five points, four rebounds, two blocks and a steal.

• Holy Family’s Lindsay Tretter (Archbishop Wood) put in eight points, seven rebounds and an assist in Wednesday’s 68-62 loss to Chestnut Hill.

The redshirt freshman scored six points with four rebounds and an assist on Sunday in the Tigers’ 56-51 win over Felician.

USciences’ 58-48 win over Caldwell on Sunday featured two points, 10 rebounds, an assist and a steal from Shannon May (Archbishop Wood). It’s the second 10-rebound game this season for the 5-foot-4 May. Jess Huber (North Penn) added 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block and Harlem Jennings (Archbishop Carroll) had six points, three rebounds and an assist. Jules Gura (St. Basil Academy) made her first start of the season, scoring two points with five rebounds, an assist, steal and block while Anna McTamney (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had four points, six rebounds and an assist off the bench.

• In Wednesday’s 61-57 loss to St. Bonaventur­e, La Salle’s Molly Mascianton­io (Archbishop Carroll) had 11 points, two rebounds and four assists with Jaye Haynes (Germantown Academy) tacking on seven points, six rebounds, an assist and a steal.

• Bucknell’s Taylor O’Brien (PW) scored five points with three rebounds and two steals while posting all six of her assists in the first quarter of Saturday’s 60-45 win over Loyola.

O’Brien had 16 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two block s and two steals for the Bison in Wednesday’s 53-43 win over Navy.

• Kate Connolly (Souderton) had four points, six rebounds, an assist, block and two steals for Drexel in Friday’s 72-60 win against Elon.

Connolly added two points, two rebounds, an assist and two blocks in Sunday’s 75-67 win over William & Mary

• Widener’s Brooke Bacthle (Pennridge) rolled up eight points, eight rebounds, an assist and three steals in Wednesday’s 67-57 win over Eastern.

Bacthle added two points, four rebounds and three assists on Sunday in a 66-60 win over Lebanon Valley College.

• LVC’s Jordan Zimmerman (Souderton) posted five points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal Sunday in a 66-60 loss to Widener.

• Albright’s Brady Wassel (Lansdale Catholic) had two points, seven rebounds, one assist and a steal in the 5550 win over Hood on Saturday.

• Carley Adams (North Penn) tallied eight points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal for East Stroudsbur­g in Saturday’s 62-43 win over Shippensbu­rg.

• Wednesday’s 83-78 loss to Marywood saw several big stat lines from Gwynedd Mercy University players. Haley Crossley (William Tennent) had 21 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and a steal, Elise Sylvester (PJP II) recorded 22 points, three rebounds, seven assists and two steals and Cayla Sharkey (North Penn) came up with eight points and five rebounds. Kelly Owens (Perk Valley) also had seven points, three rebounds and three assists.

• Lauren Fortescue (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had six points, six rebounds and four assists for Salisbury in Friday’s 71-53 win over Eastern.

In Wednesday’s 74-59 win at Neumann, Fortescue tallied 12 points, four rebounds, an assist and a block.

• King’s College freshman Alli Lindsay (North Penn) scored 12 points with three rebounds, three steals and an assist in Saturday’s 74-58 win over Del Val.

Women’s soccer

• Duke’s Mac Pluck (Germantown Academy) was named to the ACC AllAcademi­c team for the third time in her career. The North Wales resident posted a 3.88 GPA in the fall semester and on the field, led the Blue Devils with eight assists.

Men’s soccer

• Louisville freshman Josh Jones (North Penn) earned a spot on the ACC All-American team for the fall semester. Jones started 16 of his 18 appearance­s and scored two goals in his first collegiate season.
