JOHN MCEUEN REVISITS NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND CLASSICS AT SELLERSVIL­LE

The following events are planned for the week ahead throughout the region: • John McEuen & The Circle Band kicks off the weekend at Sellersvil­le Theater with “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” featuring the music and memories of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and its landmark 1972 album of that name. The multimedia show features archival photograph­s, film, Circle session photos, narrative and music of early NGDB, taking the audience on a 50-year journey. A unique part of the show covers the 1977 Russia trip, and what happened behind the Iron Curtain to the first American band to tour there. Joining McEuen will be T. Michael Coleman of Doc Watson and The Seldom Scene and Matt Cartsonis of Austin Lounge Lizards and Bryndle. In addition to Nitty Gritty Dirt Band favorites, the evening will include music from McEuen’s new, highly praised record, “Made in Brooklyn.” Also on the Sellersvil­le calendar this weekend are concerts by the Celtic-American roots music super group RUNA on Friday at 8 p.m., “The Voice” finalist Billy Gilman on Saturday at 8 p.m., the alternativ­e rock band Sister Hazel on Sunday at 8 p.m. and the five-time Grammy-winning South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo on Monday at 8 p.m. For tickets and more informatio­n, see st94.com.

• A busy weekend of comedy and music at Reading’s Santander Arena and Santander Performing Arts Center begins with Jim Jefferies’ “The Moist Tour” today at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. The Sydney, Australia, native has entertaine­d audiences across the globe with his provocativ­e, belief-challengin­g and thought-provoking comedy. He was honored as Stand-Up Comedian of the Year at the Just for Laughs Festival in 2019. Also scheduled for the Performing Arts Center are Dominican musician and songwriter Wason on Friday at 8:30 p.m., Southern rockers 38 Special on Saturday at 8 p.m. and “That Golden Girls Show: A Puppet Parody” on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Santander Arena will present Puerto Rican singersong­writer Farruko on Friday at 8 p.m. and a Soul Nation event featuring Joe, Jagged Edge, Genuwine and Vivian Green on Sunday at 3 p.m. For tickets and more informatio­n, see santandera­rena.com.

• The Colonial Theatre, Phoenixvil­le, hosts the I’m So Fanci Fridays Mardi Gras drag show on Friday at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25, with a portion of the proceeds benefittin­g the LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County. And on Saturday at 4p.m. the Colonial hosts the East Coast premiere of Ejaz Khan’s film “Vanishing Knowledge,” about Vietnam War veteran Frank Kuntz, who has devoted his life to preserving a unique herd of horses that are used for human therapy. Due to his cancer from the effects of Agent Orange during the war, he is finding it extremely difficult to provide for these horses as he did in the past. • The Philly Home & Garden Show runs Friday through Sunday at the Greater Philadelph­ia Expo Center at Oaks. The event is a marketplac­e where you can shop for home-related products and services, view displays to help inspire your next home project, connect with industry experts and enjoy informativ­e presentati­ons from renowned local and internatio­nal home profession­als. Speakers will include Mina Starsiak Hawk, a home renovation expert, real estate agent and star of the HGTV series “Good Bones”; Jeff Devlin, the host of DIY Network’s “Stone House Revival”; and Matt Blashaw, host of “Profession­al Grade,” “Yard Crashers” and “Vacation House for Free.” Show hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. • SoulJoel’s Comedy Club at Westover Golf Club, Jeffersonv­ille, presents Eric D’Alessandro on Friday at 7 p.m. and Tanyalee Davis on Saturday at 7p.m. D’Alessandro’s passion for comedy is equally credited to his creative mindset as well as his big Italian-American family. He created a YouTube channel where he developed his comedic skills from a young age. Through his sketches featuring original characters like “Maria Marie,” as well as impression­s of celebritie­s like Drake and comedic covers of popular songs, his YouTube platform helped him build a loyal fanbase. At 3-feet-3 inches tall, Davis is called the Ferrari of comedy — low to the ground and kind of racy. She has been spotlighte­d on the premiere episode of “Last Comic Standing 2,” “Adam Hills: Comically Challenged,” “Little People, Big World” and “World’s Smallest People” on The Learning Channel.
