Presentation of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1564 Allentown Road, Lansdale, is partnering with The United Ukrainian American Relief Committee, Inc. (UUARC) to collect specific needed items to be sent to the refugees of Ukraine. Presentation of Our Lord will hold two donation dates for the community to contribute to this effort. Items needed include medical supplies, personal hygiene items, baby formula, diapers and wipes, adult briefs, mobility aids, towels, sheets, blankets, hand and feet warmers, newly packaged undergarments and socks, and trash bags. NO CLOTHING. Financial donations are encouraged and will be accepted at the collection events. Girl Scout Troop #7295, that meets twice monthly at St. John’s United Church of Christ, will serve as greeters and bring forth the offering at the 10:15 am service on March 6. The Chancel Choir will sing “A Lenten Meditation” by Douglas Wagner. All worshipers are asked to wear a mask while inside all church buildings. The Church of the Holy Spirit of Harleysville (Episcopal), 2871 Barndt Road at the corner of Sumneytown Pike, Upper Salford, holds in-person communion services at
8 and 10:15 a.m. on Sundays, with Covid protocols requiring mask wearing. The club has been active for over 20years and is named after its founder, Betsy Albinson. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, March 15, at Pizza Time Saloon at 5:30p.m. We will let everyone know if it is changed to meeting on Zoom. The books to be discussed will be “The Romanov Empress: A Novel of Tsarina Maria Feodorovna” by C. W. Gortner and “The Pearl Sister “by Lucinda Riley. The club meets on a Wednesday or Thursday every other month. At each meeting the group chooses: the books to be read for the next meeting, the date, and the meeting place. The books span an array of types, such as fiction, non-fiction, biographies, historical fiction and memoirs. Grace Lutheran Church, 40 N. Main St., Hatfield, and Pastor Nancy M. Raabe will host contemplative Lenten services for the community at 7:30p.m. each Wednesday in Lent from March 9 to April 6 on the theme of “Returning” from the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Sunday morning services continue in person at 8 and 10:30 a.m., with the 10:30service livestreamed from the church’s YouTube channel and website, gracelutheranhatfield.org. Sunday School is held in person from 9:15-10:15 a.m. and always welcomes new students. On March 6 and 13 the church will hold a silent auction of birdhouses built and decorated by Grace’s youth program to benefit the Habitat for Humanity/Thrivent Faith Build project on Cowpath Road in Hatfield. A drive-through Spaghetti Dinner at Grace on March 24 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. will also benefit the Faith Build.
