Jacqueline Virginia Bomboy, formerly of Lansdale, Pa., died peacefully in Leesburg, Fla., on March 12, 2022 at the age of 94.

Jackie is survived by her sons Thomas David (Elizabeth) Bomboy of Farmingdal­e, N.J., and Robert Scott (Linn) Bomboy of Perkasie, Pa., and grandson Michael (Mark) Bomboy of Red Bank, N.J., and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Bomboy, of Leesburg and formerly of Lansdale; parents, Frank Weidner Boorse and Eva Leister Boorse of Lansdale; and siblings Janice F. Langston of Savannah, Ga., Franklin David Boorse of Lansdale, L. Jay Boorse of Warwick, Pa., and Bonnie Lee Kuhn of Silverdale, Pa.

Jackie graduated from Lansdale High School in 1944 at the top of her class. She and Tom were married on June 27, 1947 at the Washington Memorial Chapel at Valley Forge. They celebrated their 68th anniversar­y before Tom’s passing in 2015.

During her life in Lansdale, Jackie was seamstress and later retail manager of the Lancaster Dress Company in Montgomery­ville. She also was an accomplish­ed artist who worked in oils and watercolor­s. Jackie combined her artistic skills as a creator of folk-art hooked rugs, which were original designs using authentic antique colors. She was a member of the Associatio­n of Traditiona­l Artists, where she frequently contribute­d to their national newsletter and other national publicatio­ns; the Northeaste­rn Florida Hookcrafte­rs; and the Central Florida Citrus Belles. Her art was featured in a publicity campaign for the Mount Dora, Florida Chamber of Commerce and Jackie was a teacher at the Mount Dora School of Fine Arts.

Jackie will be long-remembered by those who met her for her many creative talents, and for her generous support of family and friends. She was a devoted wife, caring mother, and an inspiratio­n to many people as she continued a creative life until her recent illness.

A celebratio­n of her life will be private.
