Louis Vincent Cesarini, 61, a resident of Schwenksvi­lle, PA, since 2018, passed away at home on Wednesday morning, March 16, 2022, after a long illness. He and his husband, L. Scott Simon, met in 1993, were united in a commitment ceremony in 1998, and were legally married in 2015. They had formerly lived in Dayton, OH and Laguna Beach, CA.

Born April 22, 1960, in Scranton, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Lou (Scalese) Cesarini of Scranton, PA. He was a 1978 graduate of Scranton Central High School and earned his Bachelor of Music in French Horn performanc­e from George Mason University. He guarded Air Force One while serving in the U. S. Air Force from 1978-1982.

Louis served as Associate Director of Global Oncology at Merck, in Upper Gwynedd, PA. He was an inspiratio­nal speaker and author of Survival Symphony, a book he wrote about his cancer journey after he was diagnosed with Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. He enjoyed playing the French Horn with music from Beethoven, singing tenor for operas, and was an avid runner.

In addition to his husband, he is survived by three siblings, Thomas Cesarini and his wife, Irene, of York, PA, Angela Zanghi of Scranton, PA, and Joseph Cesarini Jr. and his wife, Terri, of Elmhurst, PA. He is also survived by his Cesarini nephews, Anthony and his wife Fallon, Nick, and Chris, and nephew Ross Zanghi; his Cesarini nieces, Brittany, and her husband Hoclay, Nicole, and Jade, and niece Maria Zanghi; his grandnephe­ws, Milo and Lorenzo; and grandniece­s, Antonella and Stella; brother-in-law, Mark Simon and his wife, Alison O’Neil; and his Fuentes cousins Marco, Merissa, Chris, and Antonia. He was under the exceptiona­l physician care of Dr. Corey J. Langer MD, and Physical Therapists Allison Jakavick and Danielle Hatfield.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 2pm on Monday, March 21, 2022, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Road, Skippack, PA, where family will receive friends for his viewing from 1-1:45pm. Interment will be private.
