Forum set for feedback on superintendent search
Online survey also seeking input
>> The North Penn School District is looking for feedback in a virtual meeting tonight on the search for the district’s next superintendent.
North Penn announced on Monday that an online community focus group meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30 to gather feedback from parents and residents.
“Members of the North Penn community are invited to join this virtual forum and discuss the issues most important to them when selecting a new Superintendent of Schools.
Information collected during the meeting will guide the School Board directors in the decision-making process,” said the district in a statement.
Longtime North Penn superintendent Curt Dietrich announced in February that he plans to retire at the end of the current schoolyear after 12 years in that position, and the district school board voted in late February to hire a search firm to find his successor. That search firm, Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, will host and coordinate the March 30 online forum, according to the district, and limited space is available so those interested in attending are asked to register online beforehand.
In addition to the online forum, the search firm has also created a community survey meant to gather public input on the superintendent search; that survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on April 1 and can also be found online.
And for those interested in discussing current issues with Dietrich, the current superintendent will host his monthly “Community Conversations” forum online, on April 19 from noon to 1 p.m. During that meeting, Dietrich “will give summarized updates on school news and ask for feedback and input, while also allowing time for open questions from parents, guardians, and community members,” according to the district. Those interested in participating are also asked to register online beforehand.
