Foster’s five goals lift Upper Dublin

Girls lacrosse

UPPER DUBLIN 12, PENNRIDGE 11 >> Aditi Foster scored five goals and added two assists as the Cardinals won a thriller on Wednesday in SOL crossover action. Paige Dinkel added three goals, while Julie Zlonitkoff also scored two for the Cards. Also tallying goals for Upper Dublin were Anna DiMartile and Cami Rosenthal. Grace Roscia and Maddy Edinger both scored three goals for Pennridge.

GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 16, PENNRIDGE 4 >> The Patriots went ahead 6-0 after one quarter and coasted to the nonconfere­nce win on Wednesday. Drew Ferguson, Matt Seiler, Jack Leuthe and Ben Souder scored for the Rams.

HOLY GHOST PREP 8, POPE JOHN PAUL II 5 >> Cole Miller scored two goals in the Golden Rams non-league loss against Holy Ghost Prep Wednesday. Cole Miller added two goals while Connor Gucwa, Shane Flynn and Ian Young each scored once, with Gucwa and Flynn each adding an assist. Sean Fallon made five saves in goal.

Baseball

METHACTON 16, NORRISTOWN 1 >> The Warriors opened PAC play with a romp on Wednesday afternoon in five innings. Mathew Christian earned the win on the mound, striking out six in four innings of shutout ball. His brother Michael Christian helped provide the offense with two hits and an RBI. Methacton had 15 hits, but only three extra bases hits, two were doubles from Kross Howarth, who finished with six RBI’s in all.

Softball

NORTH PENN 10, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0 >> Julia Shearer, Brie Wilmot and Gianna Cimino all had two hits to lead the Knights on Wednesday.

Shearer got the win on the mound, allowing just two hits while striking out five in five innings (mercy rule).

Sarah Sabocsik had two RBI and a double and Bella Nunn knocked in a pair for North Penn.

The Knights climbed to 3-0 and are 1-0 in the SOL Colonial.

ARCHBISHOP WOOD 13, UPPER DUBLIN 2 >> Winning pitcher Dakota Fanelli struck out nine, scattered four hits and allowed just one earned run for Wood on Wednesday in a nonconfere­nce game. Fanelli also brought the lumber with two doubles and two runs scored, while Julia Yogis also doubled and tripled. For Upper Dublin, Bella Fiore was 2-for-2 with a double and Kaelin Penna hit an RBI double and scored.

DOCK 15, PLUMSTEAD CHRISTIAN 4 >> The Pioneers traveled to Plumstead Christian Wednesday and scored early and often in a BAL matchup. With the game in hand, the bench was emptied and the game ended after five innings. Maggie Dowell doubled and had three RBI’s, Aubrey Gahman scored three runs and Sophia Mercure added two hits and two RBIs for Dock. Gahman picked up her varsity win with nine strikeouts over five innings.

Boys tennis

SPRING-FORD 5, METHACTON 2 >> In a heavyweigh­t PAC showdown, the Rams won four three-set matches and came out with the win. Spring-Ford swept the singles matches, all in three sets. Cameron Moore set the tone with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles over Dylan Wen in a possible preview of the PAC singles championsh­ip. S-F then got a big win at No. 1 doubles from Ethan Shakor/Jake Kolevas 1-6, 7-5, 6-1 over Akash Suresh/Karim Jayaram. WISSAHICKO­N 6, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 0 >> The Trojans didn’t drop a set in picking up the SOL Liberty win on Tuesday. Danny Zappin picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles over Zachary Small in one of the closest matches of the day.

Boys volleyball

PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 >> Riley Kodidek had 26 assists, three aces and four blocks for the Rams in the win over the Titans.

Pennridge took the contest in straight sets, 25-23, 25-12, 25-17.

Also for the Rams, Alex Derk had 13 digs, Nick Smith had eight kills and two blocks, Tyler Johnson had six kills and three blocks, and Jude Rotondo had six kills and three aces.

Thomas McKinney (four kills, seven digs) and Gavin Tirjan (six digs) also contribute­d to the win for Pennridge.

The Rams improved to 2-0 and would go on to host Central Bucks West Thursday night.

PENNSBURY 3, ABINGTON 1 >> After winning the first set, the Ghosts lost an SOL matchup against the Falcons Wednesday night 1325, 25-22, 26-24, 25-22. Xavier Voit led Abington with 13 kills while Colin Mulvihill had 25 assists and Zach Miller and Jake Kosik each had seven digs. Bradley Burgfechte­l led Pennsbury with 17 kills.
