Cynthia Tomlinson Evans

-

Cynthia Tomlinson Evans, resident of Foulkeways at Gwynedd, died on Wednesday, April 6th, surrounded by family. She was 95 years old.

She is survived by her four children, C’Anne and her husband Robert Stevenson, Joseph (Bud), Bill and his wife Emily, Wally, and his wife Amy. Cynthia was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Leland, Hannah, Sam and Emma, and four greatgrandchildren, Elijah, London, Ashlyn, and Ainsley. She spent many hours on pool decks, at horse shows, and concert halls supporting their pursuits.

Cynthia was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Glenside, PA. She graduated from George School and the Philadelphia College of Art. She was married to Joseph S. Evans II (deceased) in 1949, they were happily married for 43 years. Together they built a family with traditions of Sunday dinners and September vacations at the beach. In 1968 Joe and Cynthia established Bi-County Fuels, working together to ensure its growth and success. She was proud when Robert and Bill took over when Joe died in 1992. Cynthia continued to lend her knowledge and experience in the office for another two decades.

Cynthia was a quiet force. Constantly moving and looking for ways to improve everything around her.

She modeled her life after one of her favorite quotes, “Live simply, so others may simply live.” She believed in equality for all and lending a hand to those in need.

Never boastful, she worked tirelessly on projects she cared for deeply. She had a deep love, for art, culture, and music and always wanted to share it with her friends.

Cynthia moved to Foulkeways in 2000, where she pursued her creative interests. She served as a member of the Foulkeways Board, and secretary

of the Resident’s Association, she was an asset to Decorating and Flower Committees. Cynthia was chairwoman of the Art Committee and the Display Committee, helping to grow both programs. She was a skilled seamstress, photographer, and an excellent bridge partner.

We are forever grateful for the years that we had with her, her wisdom, and quick wit. Cynthia will be deeply missed by family, friends, and her community at Foulkeways.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory can be sent to:
