Souderton baseball rallies to beat Pennsbury in 8

SOUDERTON 9, PENNSBURY 7 (8) » The Indians (6-3, 5-2 SOL Colonial) trailed 6-3 entering the top of the seventh before rallying for the win in eight innings on Friday. Ethan Warner delivered the game-winning two-run single in the 8th and Will McCausland closed out the game with a scoreless bottom half of the inning.

Warner was 2-for-4 with four RBIs while Luke Pollock was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Warner and Luke Pollock both had two hits on the day with Shanley Wall doubling and scoring three times.

PJP II 3, UPPER PERK 2 » The Golden Panthers (3-4) fell behind 2-0 after one inning, but recovered in time to rally for the PAC win on Friday. Nick Rubendall went 2-for-2 with a triple and a run score to pace the offense, while Adam Yarrison pitched two-hit ball over six innings.

JENKINTOWN 10, BRISTOL 0 » Sam Schumm tossed the shutout for the Drakes and also doubled and singled. Charlie Levy added three hits and three runs scored, while Ben Spector tripled for Jenkintown.

PW 12, SPRINGFIEL­D 1 (5) » Plymouth Whitemarsh broke open a 1-1 game with six runs in the third then scored five more in the fourth and went on to earn a five-inning SOL crossover victory.

Ray Tomassetti hit a two-run home run in the sixth while Jesse Jaconski was 2-for-2 with a double, triple, two RBIs and three runs scored for the Colonials (7-3, 4-3 SOL Liberty), who have won four straight.

Lincoln Sharpe went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Michael Miller was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Luke Gartland finished 2-for-3 with two run scored.

Dan Matthews was 2-for-3 for Springfiel­d (1-6, 1-4 SOL Freedom).

HATBORO-HORSHAM 18, CHELTENHAM 2 » Trey Porter capped Hatboro-Horsham’s scoring with an insidethe-park-grand slam in the top of the seventh as Hatboro-Horsham rolled to its eighth straight win.

Zach Greenberg was 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored for the Hatters (9-2, 8-0 SOL Liberty) while Kyle Dittus went 2-for-2 with an RBI and four runs scored.

Porter finished with five RBIs and three runs scored, Will Bruner doubled and collected three RBIs while Cole Fisher had two RBIs

Nate Quigley was 2-for-4 while Eon Nelson tripled and had two RBIs for Cheltenham (2-6, 0-5 SOL Freedom).

The Panthers scored twice in the bottom of the second to tie the game 2-2 but HH plated two in the fourth then five more in the fifth to go up 9-2. After a run in the sixth, the Hatters scored eight in the seventh.

NESHAMINY 12, PENNRIDGE 2 (6) » Neshaminy scored six runs in the bottom of the first then plated another six in the sixth to hand Pennridge an SOL crossover loss.

Jaden Morgan had an RBI single in the third for the Rams (3-5, 1-5 SOL Colonial) while Aidan Fretz hit an RBI double in the fifth.

ABINGTON 12, NEW HOPESOLEBU­RY 3 » Anthony Ehly was a triple short of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a double, home run, two RBIs and four runs scored as Abington scored the SOL crossover game’s first 10 runs and cruised to a victory.

Matt Worek was 2-for-5 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored while Alex Dardaris had two RBIs for the Galloping Ghosts (44, 3-4 SOL Liberty).

Abington scored three runs in the top of the first, plated four more in the second then added two in the third. Ehly’s solo homer in the fourth made it 10-0.

CB WEST 5, BENSALEM 3 » Matt Carr was 2-for-3 with three runs and hit the goahead RBI single as Central Bucks West scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to erase a 3-2 deficit and claim an SOL crossover win.

Damian Thomas, who led off the fifth with a single, scored on a wild pitch to the tie the game. Carr’s RBI base hit made it 4-3 while Aidan Quinn’s RBI double two batters later had the Bucks (5-3, 3-1 SOL Colonial) up 5-3.

West led 2-1 after three innings before the Owls scored twice in the top of the fourth.

Softball

PW 12, SPRINGFIEL­D-MONTCO 6 » The Colonials rallied for six runs in the seventh inning and got the win.

Freshman Madison Moran came in to pitch the third and finished with her first varsity win, striking out nine strikeouts and allowing four hits over five innings.

Lauren Kane and Rian Reed led the PW offensive attack with three hits apiece. Haylie Lindley and Marissa Perez added two hits each.

PENNSBURY 4, SOUDERTON 3» Souderton’s late rally from a 4-0 deficit came up just short as the Indians dropped their second straight.

A Kendall Clemmer RBI single in the bottom of the sixth made it 4-1. In its half of the seventh, Souderton (8-3, 5-3 SOL Colonial) drew three straight one-out walks to load the bases with Kayley York’s RBI single getting Big Red within two.

With the bases still loaded and two outs, Clemmer was hit by a pitch to make it 4-3 but the next batter struck out and Pennsbury held on.

Clemmer finished with two RBIs while Megan Kummery was 2-for-3.

Cait Martell led off the fourth with a home run to put Pennsbury up 1-0. The Falcons added two runs in the fifth then plated one in the top of the sixth. ABINGTON 4, NEW HOPESOLEBU­RY 3 » Leanna Schenk and Natalie Broskley both hit inside-the-parkhome runs and Abington held off New Hope-Solebury to claim an SOL crossover win.

Schenk also doubled and finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored while Sydney Steiner was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI for the Galloping Ghosts (4-3, 3-3 SOL Liberty). Pitcher Sam Wenhold struck out 10 in earning a completega­me win.

Back-to-back RBI singles by Lauren Everitt and Steiner in the bottom of the sixth gave Abington a 4-1 lead.

New Hope-Solebury pulled to within 4-3 in the seventh after two runs scored after a two-out error with the bases loaded. But a groundout on the next at-bat gave the Ghosts their second straight victory.

Boys Volleyball

DOCK 3, SOUDERTON 0 » The Pioneers (9-1) picked up the win over their rivals by scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 25-19. Over the past four seasons, the Indians won this matchup with excellent, powerful plays. This year it was finally Dock’s time to take the upper hand.

The Pioneers finished with 35 kills, 10 aces, 13 digs and two stuff blocks. Andrew Brown led Souderton with 14 kills, while Nate Brown added 11 kills. PENNRIDGE 3, QUAKERTOWN 1 » The Rams picked up the win on Thursday night by scores of 19-25, 25-15, 2518 and 25-17. Riley Kodidek paced Pennridge (7-1) with 38 assists, 14 digs, four aces and three kills, while Tyler Johnson added nine kills and four blocks.

Also standing out for Pennridge were Nick Smith (six kills, five blocks), Jude Rotondo (16 kills, seven digs, two aces), Thomas McKinney

(11 kills, 10 digs), Jason McCreary (three kills, five blocks), Aaron Ladd (three kills), Alex Derk (18 digs) and Ty Porter (seven digs).

Boys Lacrosse

METHACTON 5, PERK VALLEY 4 » PV got shut out in the first quarter and never found its identity on offense being held to just four goals Methacton rode the strong play of its goal and attack man Gunnar Seaman who had all five of the Warriors’ goals. Owen Avelar had 12 saves in net for Methacton.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 10, UPPER MERION 6 » The Vikings were outscored 6-2 in the third quarter and dropped the PAC contest on Thursday.

Casey Lamey scored a goal and dished out three assists, while Kevin Roseland added two goals for the Vikings.

SOUDERTON 15, PENNRIDGE 6» The Indians took an 8-2 lead into the half and coasted to the SOL National win on Friday.

Pennridge was paced by Frankie Fanelli and Matt Seiler with two goals each. Kieran Banks added 24 saves in net for the Rams.

WISSAHICKO­N 14, SPRINGFIEL­D-MONTCO 1 » The Trojans won big on Friday behind a four-goal performanc­e from Sam Baker.

Kyle Lehman added three goals and three assists for Wiss, while Andrew Slackman and Nick Donofrio added two goals apiece.

PJP II

» Freshman Ian Young cashed in on five goals as the Golden Panthers picked up the nonleague win.

Juniors Eric Zadroga and Connor Gucwa combined for six goals and four assists to power PJP II to a 5-4 record. Freshman Denny Owens helped lead the defense with consistent intercepti­ons and deflection­s to help PJP build a 17-2 lead midway through the third quarter.

17, UPPER DARBY 8 Girls Lacrosse

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 19, VILLA JOE 3 » Devin Loome and Amelia Clair each scored five goals as The Mount won big on Thursday.

Lauren Maher and Sophie Peters each added two goals, while Annie Shields made seven saves in net for Mount St. Joe’s.

WC HENDERSON 16, SOUDERTON 9 » Lauren Hallman scored five goals but the Indians suffered the tough nonleague loss on Friday.

Yasmin Khatri added three assists for Souderton, while Reiley Knize added two goals. Angela Borisow and Ava Shaw also scored goals for Souderton.
