Moore helps PW softball edge OJR

PW 5, OWEN J. ROBERTS 4 » The Colonials (11-3) snagged a late lead and defeated OJR on Tuesday in nonleague play. The game was tied at four when Molly Moore singled in the gamewinnin­g run for the Colonials.

Moore pitched PW to the win, allowing four runs but striking out nine. Moore and Haylie Lindley each had three hits to pace PW.

NORTH PENN 18, TRUMAN 1 (5) » Julia Shearer hit for the cycle, collecting four RBIs and four runs scored and also struck out 11 in pitching a five-inning complete game as North Penn cruised to a SOL crossover victory.

Shearer finished 4-for-5 at the plate, leading the game off with a single, hitting a RBI triple in the third, an RBI double in the fourth then a two-run home run in the fifth.

Lexi Nyce homered to start the fifth for the Knights (13-1, 10-1 SOL Colonial) while Sarah Sabocsik was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Annabelle Smink went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and scored twice.

Jaclyn Diaz was 2-for-2 with two runs scored for NP. Casey Sokol and Bri Wilmot had three and two RBIs, respective­ly, while Nyce and Reyna Doherty both had two runs scored.

ARCHBISHOP WOOD 10, LITTLE FLOWER 0 » Dakota Fanelli tossed a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts in Tuesday’s win over Little Flower.

Parker Kraus provided the offense with three hits, while Maura Yoos scored three runs and stole five bases. Fanelli added a home run, while Riley Nolan tripled for Wood.

LC 1, CARDINAL O’HARA 0 » Lauren Lashak pitched a one-hit shutout and Bridget Duffy delivered an RBI single for the Crusaders (5-5, 3-2) in PCL play on Tuesday. ABINGTON 7, LOWER MORELAND 3 » Aneesa Rohrer broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the second inning with an inside-the-park grand slam as Abington ended a three-game skid with an SOL crossover win.

Rohrer finished 3-for-3 with five RBIs and two runs scored while Ellie Pierce was 3-for-3 with a run for the Galloping Ghosts (67, 5-6 SOL Liberty), who added a run in both the third and fifth to lead 7-1 before Lower Moreland (67, 3-7 SOL Freedom) scored twice in the sixth.

Baseball

DOCK 15, PLUMSTEAD CHRISTIAN 1 » Nate Lapp had 11 strikeouts en route to a complete game win for Dock over Plumstead Christian on Monday.

Offensivel­y, Deven Ross was 3-for-3 and scored four runs, Zack Neff had a basesloade­d triple (4 RBIs total on the day), and Brayden Kratz tallied three hits for the Pioneers (8-0).

FRIENDS’ CENTRAL 9, PJP II 5 » Pope John Paul II’s Nik Rubendall and Brendan Kenning each hit a home run as the Golden Panthers fell in the nonleague matchup.

Rubendall’s two-run homer in the top of the third put PJP II up 4-2 but FCS scored three bottom of the inning then added two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth for an 8-4 lead. Kenning, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, hit a leadoff home run in the sixth.

LOWER MORELAND 11 CHELTENHAM 8 » Donato Incollingo was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored as Lower Moreland won the SOL Freedom contest to snap a threegame losing streak.

Mason Tammaro went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored for the Lions (4-9, 3-8 division).

Lower Moreland took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, Cheltenham answered with four runs in the top of the second but the Lions went back ahead with four in the third. The Panthers plated three in the top of the sixth to pull within 8-7 but Lower Moreland responded with three runs in its half of the frame.

Brian Trainor had two doubles for Cheltenham (211, 0-10) and finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Girls Lacrosse

PHOENIXVIL­LE 7, UPPER MERION 5 » Julianna Callison scored three goals, while Ashley Evitts and Audrey Schuebel also tallied goals for the Vikings on Tuesday. Morgan Puglisi and Avery Fox combined for seven saves in net.

ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 23, ST. HUBERT 1 » Carroll scored 16 unanswered goals in the first half and seven more in the second half on Tuesday.

Twenty-three different players scored for Carroll. Ava Bleckley had three assists and eight draw controls for Carroll, and Claire Sexton also had three assists.

Goalies Robinson, Radar, and Elison combined for the win, stopping a total of three shots. SPRING-FORD 15, METHACTON 12 » Megan Sanelli scored five goals but the Warriors dropped the PAC contest on Tuesday.

Jayme Weber added three goals and one assist for the Warriors, while Lily Dewan scored two goals. Also scoring for Methacton were Delaney Smith and Michelle Zhai, while Mackenzie Clarke had eight saves.

Boys Lacrosse

UPPER MERION 10, PJP II 3 » The Vikings (10-4) took a 6-0 lead into the half and coasted to the win on Senior

Night. Casey Lamey led the way with four goals, but senior Brayden Marino added two goals and two assists.

Also scoring for Upper Merion were Andrew Haney, Justin Besz, Lincoln Jones and Collin McCormick. Senior Rocco Lindelow was solid in goal with 10 saves.

PENNRIDGE 15, CB SOUTH 14 (OT) » Ryan Carickoff scored six goals as the Rams (4-11, 3-5) won in overtime on Tuesday in SOL National action.

Luke Lenox and Drew Ferguson each scored three goals, while Frankie Fanelli added two goals. Matt Seiler delivered the gamewinner in overtime for his only goal of night, while Kieran Banks and Tyler Vandermark combined for 13 saves.

Boys Volleyball

PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 2 » The Rams survived in a five-set thriller by scores of 25-17, 22-25, 23-25, 25-21 and 15-13. Riley Kodidek led the way with 50 assists and six blocks, while Tyler Johnson added 16 kills and five blocks for the Rams (111).

Also standing out for Pennridge were Jude Rotondo (15 kills, 10 digs), Thomas McKinney (11 kills, 14 digs, three blocks), Bryce Ammon (8 kills, 4 aces), Nick Smith (5 kills, 4 blocks), Alex Derk (17 digs) and Ty Porter (6 digs).

Standing out for Souderton were Nate Brown (24 kills, 9 digs, 4 aces), Andrew Brown (13 kills), JC Peacock (5 kills, 3 blocks), Tobie Lias (5 kills), Alec Kreiser (7 digs) and Ethan Frattarell­i (5 digs).

DOCK 3, HAVERFORD 1 » The Pioneers closed out their regular season with a 29-27, 25-15, 20-25 and 25-17 win on Tuesday. The Pioneers finished the match with 49 kills, six aces, 54 digs and eight blocks.
