Gerald S. Colliver
Gerald S. Colliver (Jerry), 69, passed away quietly at his home in Harrison, OH, on June 20, 2022. He was the loving husband of Susan (Lehmann) Colliver; they celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary in April.
Born March 9, 1953, in Hamilton County, OH, he was the son of the late Gerald Glenn Colliver and the late Charlene Hanna Highfill.
As a young child, he moved with his father and siblings to PA and attended schools in the North Penn School District and graduated from Christopher Dock Mennonite High School (now Dock Mennonite Academy). He was active in sports and excelled in soccer. Through his high school years he worked at Ardent Nurseries in Lansdale where he developed his love for plants, for landscaping and lawn care.
After high school, he worked for GE and Branch Valley Associates, and learned the trade of bricklaying for Branch Valley. He then moved to Ohio and worked for J&J construction. Later in Ohio he went
back to his love of lawns, working for Lawnbuilders, Tru-Green, and then for himself. He took pride in building healthy green lawns for clients. He helped his wife Susan with her horse boarding stable. As a supportive father, he was proud of both sons’ achievement of Eagle Scout Awards and enjoyed practicing his culinary specialty, barbeque ribs on the grill.
In addition to his step-mother, Verna (Mohler) Colliver, Lansdale, PA, survivors include two children, Christopher Colliver (Melissa), U. S. Navy, Norfolk, VA, and Andrew Colliver (Kaity), Columbus, OH; two sisters, Deborah (Colliver) Wilcox, Milford, DE and Kathy Colliver, Milford, DE; half-sister Tammy Highfill, Middletown, OH; three grandchildren, Everleigh and Emerson Colliver, and Jack Colliver; and a nephew, Scott Swain.
He is predeceased by a nephew, Mark Swain. A Memory of Life will be held on September 3, 2022 at 11:00 a. m. at 9531 Dick Road, Harrison OH 45030.
