Pennridge VB puts three on all-state team

Pennridge’s Riley Kodidek, Tyler Johnson and Nathan Sadley were all named to the PVCA Class 3A Boys Volleyball team. All three were seniors. Kodidek a setter, while Johnson and Sadley were middle hitters. Souderton was also represente­d with junior Nate Brown, an outside hitter.

Over in 2A, Dock had a solid showing with Sean Gillespie, Tristan Blum, Anthony Bernardo and Lane Bergey all making the cut. Gillespie is a junior outside hitter, Blum is a senior middle hitter, Bernardo a junior outside hitter and Bergey a junior setter.

BABB TO CAIRN » The Cairn University Athletic Department is excited to announce that alumnus David Babb ‘91 has been named the next Director of Athletics, effective immediatel­y.

Babb is a former athletic director at Pennridge.

“I am thrilled to have David Babb join Cairn and bring years of leadership experience to our athletes and coaches.” remarked Senior Vice President of Student Affairs and Administra­tion, Scott Cawood. “He is uniquely qualified as a former student-athlete, a seasoned mentor of coaches, an experience­d administra­tor and a volunteer in sportsrela­ted ministries. He will bring a vision to Cairn Athletics that will allow us to further define the role of highly competitiv­e, Christcent­ered collegiate athletics.”

Babb brings a plethora of experience to the position, having spent over 25 years in athletic leadership and administra­tion, most recently serving 12 years as the Director of Athletics at Pennridge High School. Before Pennridge, Babb served at Quakertown High School for nine years as the Coordinato­r of Student Athletics and Activities and four years as the Athletic Director at Plumstead Christian School. Babb began his career as the Director of Athletics at Heartland Christian School in 1993.

“I would like to thank Cairn University President Todd Williams and the administra­tion for the outstandin­g opportunit­y!” remarked Babb on his hiring. “Serving at my alma mater as the Director of Athletics is a special opportunit­y and I am excited to start working with the studentath­letes, coaches, and staff. Cairn University played a major role and foundation for me, and I look forward to giving back and impacting the current studentath­letes. Cairn University has a strong mission and athletic tradition and I look forward to building on our history.”
