Grace Lutheran Church, 40 N. Main St., Hatfield, and Pastor Nancy M. Raabe will mark Ash Wednesday on February 22 with services at noon and 7:30 p.m. featuring the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion. The noon service is followed by a soup lunch. Gwynedd Square Presbyteri­an Church announces the return of Lenten Soup Suppers that were discontinu­ed due to the pandemic. The suppers begin on Wednesday, February 22, and will continue throughout Lent with the final one on March 29. The suppers begin at 5:30 with plenty of homemade soups provided by members of the various committees of the church along with bread. The first soup supper will be followed by a reflective time of worship which will be led by Rev. Alex Evangelist­a, pastor at The Church on the Mall. The following suppers will be followed by a Lenten study program entitled “Love God, Neighbor, Enemy” led by Pastor Wonjae Choi. meets on Monday nights at 7 via Zoom. The Adult Forum has begun the new Great Courses video series: Biblical Wisdom Literature with lectures by Professor Joseph Koterski of Fordham University. This course surveys the topic by a study of numerous scriptural texts including Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiast­es, Daniel, Wisdom of Solomon, Psalms and the Gospels among others. The lectures take up the array of topics and problems with emphasis on the problems of the suffering of the innocent, but also including such themes as friendship, virtue and vice, marriage and the choice of a spouse, decision making, life priorities, child rearing, illness and death. (Devinely Inspired Victorious­ly, Affirming at GSPC) is a faithbased reading group that reads books about people/ideas in the Bible. The group is studying a book, “Ten Words to Live By” by Jen Wilkin and will meet on Monday, February 20, at 7 p.m. at the Pizza Time Saloon, 1900 West Point Pike, West Point. They will continue to meet on the third Monday of the month at Pizza Time Saloon. The discussion will be on chapters 4 and 5.
