THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY OFFICE OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
is initiating planning for the 2023 Annual Action Plan as part of its application for funding to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As part of this planning process, the County will conduct two virtual Public Meetings to provide County residents with information on the application process for the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG), the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHARE) and the Homeless Assistance Program (HAP). In addition, the meetings will serve as information gathering sessions on the need for homeless prevention services, homeless shelters, transitional housing, affordable housing development, housing and services for those with special needs, community services for low and moderate income communities, economic development and public facilities/infrastructure needs in low and moderate income neighborhoods.
This is an opportunity for individuals and organizations to provide feedback to the County on the needs of low and moderate income residents, to learn about the programs, and to be involved in determining how the County will use the approximately $4.5 million in allocations from HUD to improve our community. The County encourages participation of all its residents, especially the involvement of very low income residents, minorities and non-English speaking persons, and persons with mobility, visual or hearing impairments.
Due to current public health concerns, the virtual Public Meeting will be held onTuesday, March 7, 2023 at 6pm. Instructions on how to access these meetings will be posted on the County website at www.montcopa.org. Navigate to the Office of Housing and Community Development’s Reports and page for the links. Interested parties may attend the meetings and present any comments. If you have a special need and require an accommodation in order to participate, please contact Kayleigh Silver at 610-278-3540. Advance notice of 5 days is required for sign-language or non-English speaking interpreter services, at no cost to the requester.
