St. John’s United Church of Christ celebrates One Great Hour of Sharing, the special mission of the United Church of Christ, at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. services on March 19. The UCC works with international partners to provide such resources as clean water, food, education, health services and emergency relief. OGHS also supports domestic and international ministries for disaster preparedness and response. The Chancel Choir will sing “Amazing Grace” by Daniel Kallman, at the 10:15 a.m. service. St. Peter’s Anglican Church,
191 Allentown Road, Souderton, will host a Lenten Choral Evensong and Music for Organ, Cello, and Bassoon at 5 p.m. on March 19. All are welcome. The program will feature an organ recital by Erik Meyer, with Joshua Nordland on the bassoon and Bridget Raley cello; choral works of Orlando Gibbons, John Rutter, Thomas Tallis, and David Hogan, with Eve Keane, director, Choral Evensong according to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. Refreshments will follow.

Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church Lenten Soup Suppers continue Wednesdays throughout Lent with the final one on March 29. The suppers begin at 5:30 with plenty of homemade soups provided by members of the various committees of the church along with bread. The suppers will be followed by a Lenten study program entitled “Love God, Neighbor, Enemy” lead byS GPC’s Pastor Wonjae Choi. This study curriculum comes from the series “Follow Me: Biblical Practices for Faithful Living.” The church is at 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale.

The Church of the Holy Spirit of Harleysville (Episcopal),
2871 Barndt Road at the corner of Sumneytown Pike, Upper Salford, holds Holy Communion services in-person at 8 and 10:15 a.m. on Sundays. The Horsham Interfaith Coalition
through its participating congregations, will be collecting new (and very gently used) children’s clothes sizes 6 months to children’s size 12 during Lent. Collection sites are St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Resurrection Lutheran Church, Horsham Library and St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in their PREP Office. No stuffed animals or blankets, please.
Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church DIVAS Group (Devinely Inspired Victoriously, Affirming at GSPC) is a faith-based reading group that reads books about people/ ideas in the Bible. The group is studying a book, “Ten Words to Live By” by Jen Wilkin and will meet on Monday, March 20, at 7 p.m. at the Pizza Time Saloon, 1900 West Point Pike, West Point. Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church invites you to participate in Betsy’s Book Club, a small group at the church. The club has been active for over 20 years and is named after its founder, Betsy Albinson. The next meeting will be Thursday, March 23, at Pizza Time Saloon at 5:30 p.m. The books to be discussed will be “The Personal Librarian” by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray and “Demon Copperhead” by Barbara Kingsolver. The club meets on a Wednesday or Thursday every other month. At each meeting the group chooses: the books to be read for the next meeting, the date, and the meeting place. The books span an array of types, such as fiction, non-fiction, biographies, historical fiction and memoirs.
