North Wales Arts and Cultural Center (formerly St. Luke’s UCC), 125 N. Main St., North Wales: Acclaimed concert pianist Alexei Tartakovsky will perform on Sunday, May 21, at 4 p.m. The program will include works by Beethoven, Schumann, and Rachmaninoff. Tartakovsky has performed throughout the US, as well as in Canada, Mexico, Europe, Russia, China and Japan. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the City University in New York. The Chancel Choir at St. John’s United Church of Christ will sing “My Hope Is Built” arranged by Tom Trenney and “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” lyrics from The Book of Numbers 6:24-26 and music composed by Peter Lutkin at the 10:15 a.m. service on May 21. Nursery will be provided for the 3-5 year olds during the 10:30 service. Rich Hollenbach will be preaching and leading worship while Pastor Ethan is away. The Church of the Holy Spirit of Harleysville (Episcopal), 2871 Barndt Road at the corner of Sumneytown Pike, Upper Salford, holds Communion services in-person at 8 and 10:15 a.m. on Sundays. Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, holds weekly worship 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The 8:30 Sunday service is livestreamed. Radio worship is 11 a.m. Sunday at 97.1 FM. Trinity will join with seven other area churches for Lansdale Gun Violence Awareness Day, Sunday, May 21, starting at 3:30 at Trinity Lutheran.
Following a short service, a walk will be held to raise awareness and pass out information regarding the number of deaths that have occurred in southeastern Pennsylvania due to gun violence. There will be brief comments from area leaders and names read of individuals from the area who have died by gun violence: trinitylansdale. com/events/gun-violence/ Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church will have a booth at Lansdale Day, 10a.m. to 4p.m., June 3, located between Green Street and Cannon Avenue in downtown Lansdale. Just as Towamencin Day, the church will feature a prize wheel where every child wins a prize and every child gets a GSPC bracelet. Photo posters representing the church members and community members who participate in the spring and fall Mission Weeks will be displayed with information about the activities and how you can sign up.
Gwynedd Square Presbytrerian Church Hiking Ministry will have have its next hike on Saturday, May 27, and continue on the last Saturday of the month through October. The group meets at the Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church parking lot at 8:30a.m. and drives to the destination for a 3-mile walk with brief devotion along the way. Paths are either paved or gravel with no steep inclines. Questions: Please contact Jeff Varner, cell 267-342-3095l or text him for the location of the next walk.
Gwynedd Sauare Presbyterian Church is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, June 6, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the church, 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale. It is best to make an appointment, but the Red Cross will take walk-ins if openings occur. If anyone feels ill, please don’t donate. Face masks must be worn and temperatures will be taken at registration. Please contact blood drive coordinator Jennifer Clements- Rhoads at 215-6611300 to make an appointment.
