John A. Pugliese, 86, a lifelong resident of Ambler, Pennsylvan­ia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on February 6, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication to his community, family, and faith. Born in Ambler on January 22, 1938, John was the son of Pasquale and Maria Rosa (LaRuffa) Pugliese. He graduated from Ambler High School in 1956 and embarked on a career as a machinist at SPS Technologi­es in Jenkintown. John’s commitment to his community extended beyond his profession­al life. He served as a beloved parishione­r and usher at St. Joseph Church, and even dedicated his time as a member of the Ambler Borough Council, 1999-2007.

A true family man, John cherished spending time with his loved ones. Sunday dinners were a tradition, and his passion for Italian heirloom vegetables shone through in his flourishin­g garden. He is survived by his children, Maria Chiger (Larry), Joan M. Finley (Robert), and John A. Pugliese, Jr. (Cheri); six grandchild­ren, Nate Chiger, Rebecca Chiger May (Jake), Zachary Finley, Jenna Finley, Kayla Pugliese, Dominick Pugliese; and his longtime companion, Fran Consorto. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan L. (Comito) Pugliese, and his brothers, Dominic, Joseph, and Pasquale Pugliese.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike Ambler, PA 19002. A viewing will precede the service 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Patrick Mausoleum.
