Fairfield man accused of fatal stabbing, set for arraignment
A 34-year- old Fairfield man accused of a fatally stabbing another man last week in Fairfield appeared Wednesday in Sola no County Superior Court for a jail arraignment but did not enter a plea and is scheduled to do so in the coming days.
Jason Moran Thomas, charged with the Oct. 9 murder of Davey Mathews, 41, of Fairfield, returns to Department 11 on Oct. 26 for the proceedings in Judge William J. Pendergast’s courtroom in the Justice Center in Fairfield.
The Solano County District Attorney filed its complaint and provided the suspect’s record of arrests and prosecutions on Wednesday.
Thomas, who remains in Solano County Jail without bail, is represented by the Solano County Public Defender.
Fairfield police reported that around 5:30 a.m. Oct. 9, police and fire fighter/ paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing victim in the area of Boynton and Beck avenues.
Mathews was located and taken to a nearby hospital, where he underwent surgery but later died of his wounds.

“Based on witness accounts and a statement made by the victim prior to dying, a suspect was identified,” officials said in a press statement.
A rou nd 11: 4 5 a . m., Thomas was taken into custody on the Linear Trail and the weapon used in the attack was later located.
Police said a feud between the men fueled the violence.
Just after 2:15 p.m., Moran was booked into Solano County Jail on a single count of first- degree murder.
