Among the many lessons of 2020: Find ways to support your local independent businesses, including restaurants, especially during the pandemic.

One opportunity in the new year — Visit Vacaville observes its annual Restaurant Week Jan. 15 to 24, where patrons can find specials at participating eateries.

Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, modifications will be made to this annual tradition. Restaurants will provide menus that are ideal for off-site consumption. Customer favorites and twists on beloved items will be available for pickup or delivery from eateries taking part.

Among the participating restaurants are Pietro’s No. 2, Hella Good Nutrition, Buddha Thai Bistro, Rice Barn Thai Eatery, Wah Sing Chinese Restaurant, Wah Sing Mongolian Hot Pot & BBQ and Merchant & Main Bar and Grill.

“Our restaurants have done a tremendous job of adapting to a changing environment this year and are committed to continuing to provide the experience locals and visitors look forward to every January,” Melyssa Laughlin, president and CEO of Visit Vacaville, said in a statement. “We are choosing to focus on takeout and delivery meals so we are prepared for whatever January looks like.

“I am personally excited to continue this time-honored tradition of sampling new fares and getting a taste tour of Vacaville’s culinary scene in an innovative and modified format.”

A full list of participating restaurants and specials will be available at Visitvacaville. com/restaurant-week/.
