A hard freeze to hit by sunrise Tuesday

A pine siskind, a type of North American songbird in the finch family, enjoys sunflower chips from a feeder during a dry spell in advance of changing weather systems in the coming days. The National Weather Service on Monday reported that the Vacaville area will experience a hard freeze by sunrise Tuesday, with temperatur­es dropping to 32 degrees, with showers in the afternoon and a high of 51. By Tuesday night, however, the forecast calls for heavy rain and a high wind watch. As Wednesday morning dawns, with a low of 44 degrees, showers and breezes are expected to continue all day and night and into Thursday morning and evening, with lows in the mid-40s and highs in the mid-50s. Fridays calls for a slight chance of rain and part sun, with a high near 56.
