Meghan McCain was ‘begged’ to stay on ‘The View’

A report that ABC and “The View” “begged” its controversial co-host, Meghan McCain, to stay on the show is likely to aggravate her many critics, but it probably won’t surprise them. McCain’s critics have long suspected that the network loved the way the conservative pundit riled up on-air drama and Twitter meltdowns with her sometimes offthe-rails spats with her liberal counterparts, particularly with Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg. A Disney source told Page Six: “ABC begged for her to stay (and) she said ‘No — I’m done! I’m not staying anymore.’”
