Concluding a long-term investigation, Fairfield police officers arrested two men Wednesday on suspicion of various weapon and drug charges following an early morning raid.

At about 7 a.m., detectives served a warrant on a home at 200 Santa Cruz Dr. Due to the nature of the warrant and out an abundance of caution the SWAT team was deployed to aid in the service of the warrant, according to Fairfield police spokesman and SWAT Team commander Lt. Jausiah Jacobsen.

Once set up on the home, SWAT officers began to make announcements for the people inside to exit the residence.

Twelve adults were detained at the scene and eventually Eric Brown, 40, of Fairfield was arrested on suspicion of numerous weapons charges. Sandor Sklar, 49, was arrested on suspicion of drug charges including possession of controlled substances, maintaining a drug house and possession of a firearm and a controlled substance.

“Based on the plan we had in place, we saw them fleeing and hiding contraband in the backyard and around the property,” Jacobsen said of the operation. “After three to four hours, we were finally able to everybody out.”

Once the home was secured detectives were able to recover six guns, three handguns and three rifles. In addition to the firearms, two jigs used to make a polymer 80 ghost gun were found in the home.

According to Jacobsen, a polymer 80 ghost gun is basically a clone of a Glock or other handgun that has no serial number that makes it untraceable.

“It is a big success for our investigations division because it looks like these guys were making guns,” Jacobsen said about the recovery of the evidence at the scene. “That’s awesome if we can stop that from happening and having a lot of untraceable guns out there.”
