Sat. February 18 th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rush Ranch

Internatio­nal Bird Rescue and Solano Land Trust present Backyard Bird Count for Kids at Rush Ranch, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Kids aged eight and up and their adult chaperones are invited to Rush Ranch for a special birding event. Volunteers from Internatio­nal Bird Rescue will educate participan­ts on the basics of birding and the work done at the organizati­on’s Cordelia location providing critical care for seabirds and oiled wildlife. After the 9:00 a.m. training at Rush, half the group will do a bird count on the property and the other half will drive to the Cordelia Slough. Birders will regroup in the Rush Ranch picnic area and the event will conclude around 1:00 p.m. For more info and registrati­on, email education@birdrescue.org.

Get the Rush, 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

Get the Rush is a recurring series of fun, free activities for the whole family, offered every third Saturday at Rush Ranch. From 10:00 to 12:30, you can visit the blacksmith shop kit house, Pop-Up shops, and exhibit tables while admiring the beautiful horses and foals of Access Adventure. All ages and mobility levels are welcome! Registrati­on required for the 10:30 a.m. Marsh Walk. This 2,071-acre park is open from sunrise to sunset.

February 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park Trail Crew Volunteer Opportunit­y: Come join us in building trails and amenities at Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park! Get a sneak peek of the park before it opens to the public, meet cool people who care about land in Solano County, and be part of the legacy of this beautiful new park. Registrati­on Required.

Sat. February 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Lynch Canyon Open Space

Nature Hike: This hike will take visitors westward along Middle Valley Trail leading to Prairie Ridge. Expect a five-mile hike at a moderate but even pace over uneven ground. Muddy spots will have cattle prints. There are steep climbs over several hills with the longest at Prairie Ridge but the views are worth it! Cancels for rain or extreme weather. Registrati­on Required.

Sat. March 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park

Mountain Bike Tour: Please join us for an approximat­ely 5–7-mile mountain bike ride with approximat­ely 1,500 feet of climbing. The ride will cover most of the trails at the site with scenic views and several interpreti­ve stops. Class 1 electric bikes are welcome. Registrati­on Required.

Sat. March 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at King-Swett Ranches Nature Hike: Come explore the hills between Fairfield, Benicia, and Vallejo. Solano Land Trust docents will share insights about the birds, butterflie­s, and other wildlife that call King-Swett home, and you will get a great workout! Space is limited. Hike level: Moderate to moderately strenuous. Registrati­on Required.
