David Frank Moreno Patsy J. Cooper 90 Vacaville

November 12, 1953 - January 27, 2024

David passed away days after suffering a debilitating stroke. He was born in Fairfield and raised in Vacaville California alongside his siblings, cousins, and lifelong family friends. David attended Elm School, Willis Jepson Junior High and graduated from Vaca High in 1971. Upon graduating high school he attended Solano Community College and Sacramento State University. David worked for the US Postal service for many years taking an early retirement due to compromised health after surviving his first stroke. He worked hard at living an independent life and making the best out of the hand he was dealt. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Sunday and Josephine Moreno, sisters Betty Hatley and Dora Powles, nephew Steve Powles, and brother-in-laws Doug Hatley and Sherman Powles. He leaves behind his surviving family members, Augie (Bonnie) Moreno, Debi (Tim) Shippey, nephews Scott Powles, Jeff (Nichole) Hatley, Willie (Anita) and Grant (Erin) Moreno, and Zac Shippey, nieces Vicki Hatley, Ashley Shippey, great niece and nephew Natalie Hart, Jackson Hatley, and many cousins and lifelong family friends. Always participating in youth and high school sports, David was an avid, enthusiastic, some might even say, fanatic sports fan. He wholeheartedly supported his favorite Bay Area teams and shared his side coaching views with all who cared or dared to listen. David was a sensitive human being who loved his family and friends. He was always happy to see and visit with people when he made his daily rounds to Wren’s Café, Pietro’s Restaurant, and the Post Office! A special thank you to his sister-in-law Bonnie Moreno and cousins Kevin Moreno, Steve Bera, Janice Brovald, and all those who helped make Dave’s world a little more comfortable and a brighter place for him to live.
