Vallejo Art Walk celebrates 100th event
Every second Friday, with the exception of January, the streets of Vallejo transform as art studios, galleries, vendors and merchants invite the public to see the latest in local and regional art.
Returning to downtown Vallejo for the first time in 2024, Vallejo's Art Walk will kick off its return with an even bigger celebration as the Feb. 9 event marks its 100th Friday. To help ring in the festivities, the usual crowd of musicians, painters, sculptors, crafts makers and chefs will be joined by a brand new addition to the scene — Vallejo
Third Space.
The Art Walk is proud to welcome Vallejo Third Space as it takes up occupancy at 420 Virginia St. To help celebrate the festivities of the walk's milestone anniversary, Vallejo Third Space will be hosting its official grand opening as a center for the arts for the community.
Featuring turntablist tunes, the unique IslandCali fusion flavors of Mamasan's Bistro and the work of impressive local artists, Vallejo Third Space contributes its own flair to the community event.
Regulars and newcomers alike can enjoy the variety of offerings at the event. From the art studios at The Vintage Vagabond Gallery and Flea on 310 Georgia St. to the monthly music events at the Neighborhood Plant Dealer at 419 Georgia St., attendees can revel in the array of art, music, film events and more.
Hungry attendees will be at no loss for dining options with the local restaurateurs serving up their fare. Showcasing her many talents, Chef Lisa Morningstar will be spinning vinyl and also offering a delicious variety on her menu at Morningstar Delights.
Whether it's the smaller, more intimate space at Jessica Brooks' Anchor Pantry, or the larger spaces at the Temple Art Lofts with striking sculptures on display, the variety makes for an evening of exploration.
Snap U Clear Photography may be a photo studio the rest of the month, but during Art Walk they host a musical jam featuring notable local musicians who regale the audience with spontaneous blues and other genres. One such musician included Pony Abrams, who once performed with Johnny Otis.
The entire community is invited to come out in celebration of the 100th Art Walk on Feb. 9, from 5 to 9 p.m.
