Po­lice: city man vi­o­lated pfa

PoTTSVILLe — a man was jailed af­ter be­ing ar­rested by Pottsville po­lice af­ter an in­ci­dent at an apart­ment in the 300 block of West mar­ket Street around 11:40 p.m. Fri­day.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers were called to the area for a re­port of a pro­tec­tion from abuse or­der vi­o­la­tion and met with richy Jack­son, 49, of Pottsville, who had been served with the or­der ear­lier that day.

The or­der pro­hib­ited Jack­son from hav­ing con­tact with a 35-year-old Pottsville woman, but the woman re­ported that Jack­son came to her res­i­dence and tried to have con­tact with her, po­lice said.

Jack­son was taken into cus­tody pur­suant to the di­rect vi­o­la­tion of the or­der and charged by Pa­trol­man Joel methven with in­di­rect crim­i­nal con­tempt-vi­o­la­tion of a pro­tec­tion from abuse or­der, po­lice said.

Jack­son was ar­raigned by on­call mag­is­te­rial Dis­trict Judge Christina e. Hale, Frackville, and com­mit­ted to Schuylkill County Prison un­able to post $10,000 bail.
