A com­mu­nity break­fast and prayer time is planned to mark the Na­tional Day of Prayer on May 3, be­gin­ning at 9 a.m. with break­fast served in Founders Hall at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Wash­ing­ton St. Af­ter the meal, par­tic­i­pants, ac­cord­ing to a re­lease, will move out­side to the park­ing lot over­look­ing Tamaqua to of­fer prayers for var­i­ous ar­eas of Amer­i­can so­ci­ety and cul­ture. The prayer por­tion will be led by mem­bers of the Tamaqua Min­is­te­rial As­so­ci­a­tion. All are wel­come. An of­fer­ing of $5 will help de­fray the cost of the break­fast. Ex­cess of­fer­ings will be do­nated to the Tamaqua Hunger Walk that week­end.
