Tide grad Nab­holz earns PSAC east base­ball honor

LOCK HAVEN — Pottsville grad­u­ate Eli Nab­holz was named the Penn­syl­va­nia State Ath­letic Con­fer­ence East Divi­sion Pitcher of the Week on Mon­day.

A ju­nior at Millersville Univer­sity, Nab­holz came within one out of his sec­ond ca­reer no-hit­ter in Fri­day’s 2-0 vic­tory over West Ch­ester. Nab­holz struck out seven, giv­ing up a pair of two-out sin­gles in the sev­enth. It was his sec­ond con­sec­u­tive com­plete-game shutout.

It marks the sec­ond time this sea­son that Nab­holz has won the weekly PSAC East honor, and fifth time in the past two sea­sons. He is 5-3 with a 2.09 ERA in nine starts this sea­son, strik­ing out 50 bat­ters in 51.2 in­nings. Among qual­i­fied pitch­ers, Nab­holz ranks fourth in the PSAC in ERA, third in in­nings pitched and sixth in strike­outs.

The Ma­raud­ers are 2113 over­all, 9-6 in the PSAC East.
