Veteran enjoys participation in ceremony at Mahanoy Area HS

The Republican Herald - - COMMENTARY -

To the Editor:

On Nov. 9, I had the honor of doing the opening and closing remarks at Mahanoy Area High School. The students, faculty and administration just did a really great job.

The gym was decorated in a patriotic theme. Flags were lined up along the walkway all around the school.

The band, although, small, was very good with all the music selections they played. The chorus did an extremely outstanding job.

We were given an outstanding standing ovation that continued for about 15 or 20 minutes. Everyone who was involved in this program from the school should be proud of a job well done.

This was first time in two years of participating in any program, and it was very exhilarating for me. Sorry to say that I will note be involved inthe parade committee any longer due to extenuating circumstances.

I really enjoyed Veterans Day in 2018 very much. So much respect being shown for our vets was fantastic.

Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart.
