LAU­RIE, JOHN, 88, of Saint Clair, passed away peace­fully Thurs­day while sur­rounded by his fam­ily at the home of his daugh­ter, Michele, in Ex­ton. He had fought a valiant bat­tle against can­cer.

OBLAS, THOMAS E. “NIC NAC,” 66, of Mahanoy City, passed away Satur­day while in the com­pany of

fam­ily mem­bers at the home of his niece, Carla Oblas. He died after an eight- month bat­tle with leukemia.
