Kippettes score medals at Fall Fling competitio­n

The Kendrick Kippettes gymnastics team opened its season at West Chester University’s Fall Fling competitio­n.

Gymnasts in levels two and three places across multiple events, with the Kippettes receiving a second-place team trophy for level two and a third-place team trophy for level three. Other highlights included level three team member Ainsley placing first on bars and floors with a 9.0 and 9.125, respective­ly. In level three, Amazia Dennis and Esa Falso places second on beam, while Jaya Adams took first in her age group on beam.

In level four competitio­n, the team took home a second-place team trophy. Riley Gallagher took first on beam with a 9.425, with Kelsea Richardson close behind in second with a 9.25. Anna Arnoldi also landed in second on beam with a 9.25 and took first on floor with a 9.2. Frances Mitchler placed fourth on bars with a 9.0.

Next in level five, Lauren Arnoldi and Lorelei McBride both qualified for states. Lorelei brought home a fourth-place finish on beam, and Lauren snagged wins on bars, vault and beam.

Levels six and seven came next, with the level six team taking the firstplace team trophy. Savs Barnes hit a 9.55 (first) and Ameena Rogers a 9.45 (second) on bars. On floor, Kennedi Brown’s 9.35 took second, with Savs close behind at third with a 9.3 and Ameena fourth with a 9.25. Level seven gymnast Renée Caporellie took a first-place win on bars with a 9.1, with teammate Leah Pedraza placing fourth. Leah also snagged fourth on floor with a 9.1. Renée went home with a second place on vault and in the all-around.

The Kippette’s Kcel Gold team finished out the day at the competitio­n, brining home a second-place team trophy. Mia Straface put up the highest all-around score of the entire session with a 36.325, landing her in first place. She also won first on bars with a 9.35. Angelina Galie hit a 9.0 on beam for fourth place and fifth on floor with 9.125. Joey Shoemaker snagged econd on bars with a 9.025. Jolie Schrieber stood in first place for beam with a 9.15.
