The Review - - NEWS -

Take a field trip through time to Morris Arboretum’s Grist Mill Demonstration Day at Bloomfield Farm (across the street from garden’s main entrance) Aug. 19 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Volunteers will lead tours through the historic feed and flour mill, describing and demonstrating the 160 year old machinery. Visitors will enjoy watching 1-ton millstones grind corn kernels and observing the refurbished tail gate, turbine vane controls and cob crusher, transport and sift the ground corn to produce meal. This cornmeal will be sifted, bagged and baked into muffins for visitors to sample. Kids and adults may experience grinding their own meal on the pedal-powered mill.

This event is free admission, but donations are appreciated.
