Sec­ond an­nual Har­vest Fest slated for Sept. 29

MANAYUNK » Cel­e­brate the fall sea­son with fam­ily and friends at the sec­ond an­nual Manayunk Har­vest Fest Satur­day, Sept. 29, from noon to 6 p.m.

The day will in­clude live mu­sic, food ven­dors, seasonal ac­tiv­i­ties and all things fall in Pret­zel Park and all along Main Street.

“Af­ter much suc­cess of our in­au­gu­ral event in 2017, we have de­cided to ramp up the live mu­sic as­pect of the event,” said Jane Lipton, ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of the Manayunk De­vel­op­ment Corp. “Live mu­sic is such a huge part of what makes Manayunk thrive, and we’re ex­cited to be bring­ing a mu­sic event back to the com­mu­nity.”

Pret­zel Park will host a stage from noon to 6 p.m. where top Philadel­phia acts will per­form. Fes­ti­val­go­ers will be en­ter­tained by Ben Arnold & Band, Kuf Knotz, and Stella Ruze, among oth­ers. Main Street will

host two stage ar­eas as well, with live mu­sic at the in­ter­sec­tion of Main and Cot­ton streets, as well as Canal View Park (4416 Main St.). In ad­di­tion, Manayunk’s restau­rants will host live mu­sic dur­ing din­ner hours.

The Pret­zel Park Farmers Mar­ket will take place as usual, with fresh pro­duce, baked goods and other seasonal ven­dors start­ing at 10 a.m. Food ven­dors, such as Mama’s Meat­balls, DonutNV and Jam­min’ Crepes, will line Sil­ver­wood Street above Pret­zel Park, as well as the stage area on Cot­ton Street. In ad­di­tion, of­fi­cial fes­ti­val spon­sors, Ne­shaminy Creek Brew­ing Co., Dark Horse Wine and Yard Bar, will serve beer and wine to thirsty mu­sic lovers.

Fam­i­lies are in­vited to take in some fun as well, with face paint­ing tak­ing place in the Pret­zel Park, as well as car­i­ca­tures and live pro­fes­sional pump­kin carv­ing at Canal View Park. Re­tail­ers on Main Street will open their shops for seasonal shop­ping all day, and there will be a Scare­crow Stroll out­side of 20plus busi­nesses for guests to vote on.

“Not only are we ex­cited to be bring­ing a mu­sic event back to the district, but we are happy to have a fam­ily friendly event for those who live here,” Lipton said. “We re­ally look for­ward to host­ing ev­ery­one dur­ing this won­der­ful time of year for our sec­ond Har­vest Fest.”
