COVID-19 testing: The city of Chino Hills offers free COVID-19 testing, in partnershi­p with San Bernardino County, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 23 in the barn at the Mccoy Equestrian and Recreation Center, 14280 Peyton Drive. Donors receive a free mini-physical, including readings for blood pressure, pulse, cholestero­l levels, iron level and temperatur­e, with results being posted on the donor’s private online portal. Writers’ group: The San Dimas Writers Group meets 1p.m. Wednesdays at San Dimas Senior Center, 201E. Bonita Ave., San Dimas. The group is open to published writers and anyone else interested in joining a community of writers. There is no cost to join, and masks are required.

Jazz Fest: The city of Fontana’s annual Jazz Fest: A Black History Month Celebratio­n is 3-7 p.m. at the Steelworke­rs Auditorium, 8437 Sierra Ave. This free event will feature jazz music from Jazz in Pink and Sons of Mystro, artisanal shopping, interactiv­e art activities and food vendors. Opera: California Baptist University Opera Theater presents “L’elisir d’amore” (“The Elixir of Love”) by Donizetti, sung in Italian with projected English translatio­ns, 7:30 p.m. in the Lewis Family Playhouse at Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, 12505Cultu­ral Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga. Car show: The Fontana Car Show series is back, with shows 5-9p.m. the first Friday of the month from March through September. There is no show in June. The free event is at the Civic Center parking lot, 8353Sierra Ave., and features classic cars, food and beverage vendors and live music.
