Fans of Soarin’ Over California will get another chance to hang glide over Napa Valley, Monterey Bay and Redwood Creek when the classic version of the flight simulator ride returns to Disney California Adventure.

Soarin’ Over California’s limited run starts March 4, just in time for Disney’s Food & Wine Festival at the Anaheim theme park. An end date for the ride hasn’t been announced.

The original 2001 attraction, which simulated a flight above the Golden Gate Bridge, Malibu beaches and other California locales, was replaced in 2016 with Soarin’ Around the World, which tours the Swiss Alps, Great Wall of China and other international landmarks.

Disney last brought back Soarin’ Over California for the 2020 Food & Wine Fest, which was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic’s closure of California Adventure

and Disneyland.

Before that, Soarin’ Over California made a limited run in June 2019 to help absorb the anticipated crowds that never materialized for the debut of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland.

In the past, Disney has offered some exclusive ride times for annual passholders on Soarin’ Over California, but nothing has been announced about whether Magic Keyholders will reap the same benefit this time around.

The return of the attraction is expected to continue throughout the food fest, which runs March 4-April 26.

The fest features Californiainspired dishes along with live entertainment, culinary seminars, cooking demonstrations and hands-on experiences for kids. The event brings a dozen festival marketplace booths to California Adventure featuring small plates, specialty wines and craft beers.
