Senior centers continue to offer packaged meals
They can be brought home from the many locations listed below
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, senior centers in many communities offered hot lunches five days a week. Because of the pandemic and resulting restrictions, centers suspended sitdown lunches in mid-march 2020 and began offering meals seniors may take home. Many centers still are offering packaged meals, though a few have returned to sit-down meals.
Following are the hours and days when centers whose menus were printed on this page before the pandemic are offering meals.
• Family Service Association, which provided hot meals at various centers, distributes weekly meal packages of five frozen meals, plus milk, bread and fruit, on Wednesdays at centers including the following: 10-11 a.m., Rancho Cucamonga, 11200 Base Line Road, 909-4772780; 10 a.m.-noon, Upland, 250 N. Third Ave., 909-981-4501.
These meals are for those who participate in the senior lunch program and are 60 or older, and supply is limited. Others who need meals may contact Family Service Association at 951-3423057.
