School district to offer meals during spring break

-

San Bernardino City Unified School District students will be out of school on spring break for two weeks starting Monday.

Middle College High School and Inland Career Education Center students have a single week of Spring Break from March 21 through March 25. Other students return to class April 4.

During spring break, the district is offering grab-andgo meals for all students up to age 18 and an academic enrichment and physical activity program for elementary and middle school students.

The grab-and-go meals — 10 days’ worth of breakfasts and lunches — will be available for pickup from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the following sites: Arroyo Valley High School, 1881 W. Baseline St.; Cajon High, 1200 W. Hill Drive; Del Vallejo Middle School, 1885 E. Lynwood Drive; Indian Springs High, 650 N. Del Rosa Drive; Muscoy Elementary, 2119 W. Blake St.; Richardson PREP HI, 455 S. K St.; San Bernardino High, 1850 N. E St.; and San Gorgonio High, 2299 Pacific St.

“While we know that spring break is a fun time for many students and families as they enjoy a well-earned vacation, we know that for other families it can be a stressful time because without school, students may not know where their next meal is coming from and families may struggle to find day care,” Sandra Rodriguez, assistant superintendent of Student Services, said in a news release.

CAPS Expanded Learning, the district’s after-school program, is offering CAPS Splash into Spring Break. The intersession program offers academic enrichment and physical activity opportunities to elementary and middle school students from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays during spring break.
